The L'OR Barista coffee machine has been designed to work with L’OR Espresso single-shot capsules and L’OR Barista double-shot capsules, as well as with Nespresso* capsules and aluminum capsules from coffee brands produced by Jacobs Douwe Egberts, such as Douwe Egberts, JACOBS, Jacqmotte, Jacques Vabre, Grand Mère, L'OR, Marcilla, Moccona, Saimaza and Senseo.

*brand of a third party not connected to JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS and / or PHILIPS.

Yes, espresso is the basis for each of these drinks. You have put the milk, cream etc. in and there you have it. Lots of guidance available on the internet. This machine will also take any Nespresso original compatible pods. Not Nespresso Vertuo pods. A really versatile and easy to use machine. Hope this helps.

Having checked I can see this machine can make ristretto, lungo, and Espresso only.

Our supplier has advised the following regarding the hilips Sublime L'OR Pod Coffee Machine - White.

The buttons (unless programmed otherwise) produce drink volume as follows:

Ristretto 25ml

Espresso 40ml

Lungo 110ml


(We also have available for the Barista machine XL pods which double the above volumes).

Information about how to program the machine to produce either a minimum or maximum drink volume can be found on page 14 of your instruction manual, as follows:

Fill the water tank.


Insert a capsule and close the lever.


If you want to adjust the volume for normal capsules, insert a L'OR single-shot espresso capsule. - If you want to adjust the volume for an XXL capsule, insert a L’OR Barista double-shot capsule.


Press and hold the button of the coffee whose volume you want to adjust for 4 seconds until the button flashes quickly. Then release the button. The machine starts brewing coffee.


Press the same button again when the cup contains the desired volume. The button shows a light burst to indicate the new volume is stored.


Please note, the machine can however be programmed to produce only the following maximums:


Regular Capsules

Ristretto 40ml

Espresso 50ml

Lungo 135ml



XXL Capsules

Ristretto 60ml

Espresso 100ml

Lungo 270ml

It is though also possible to increase a drink size to as large a volume as you like by, at the end of the brewing cycle, pressing any one of the buttons again.

This will essentially re-use the same pod. It will also of course dilute the drink a little.

For one coffee, you simply place one cup under the coffee dispensing spout; for two coffees you place two cups under the coffee dispensing spout.

I have checked the Philips Sublime L'OR Pod Coffee Machine - White, Every comes with a variety assortment of capsules: 4 L'OR Espresso single shot and 5 L'OR Barista double shot capsules.
