Recently bought as carpets have never been cleaned from new 5 years ago. Very impressed with how dry the carpet was after cleaning and the overall clean. Loved the auto wash/dry feature was a welcome bonus.

Wonderful machine
Didn’t know what to expect from this machine. Read all the reviews good bad and indifferent ones. I decided to get one and see how it goes. So living in the countryside with animals we all tend to tread in more of the outside world and this as you can imagine doesn’t help keeping carpets and upholstery clean. So the 2 large sofas got a taste of Vax platinum smartwash. First I sprayed with pre treatment solution then got to work with the Vax! Results are very impressive really cleans well and drying was faster than expected. The Vax sucked out a lot of the water and solution that I used and the dirty water was a bit of an eye opener! Impressed by the Vax and the results!

I bought a carpet cleaner a month ago and after some issues with the machine delivered Vax replaced in 24 hours with a new one. This one works properly and I find it a very good product. I strongly recommend Vax machines.

Very Good Cleaner
I bought this several months ago - it was cheaper than the diamond pendant that my wife wanted. I should have bought both, life in the dog-house has been a bit rough. The Platinum Smartwash carpet cleaner is easy to use, that’s without watching the video (couldn’t find where my wife had hid the popcorn, sigh). The printed instructions are easy to follow - despite an irate person at my shoulder. It cleans carpets well. I found it best to clean the carpet and then use the dry mode to go over a cleaned area to aid the drying process. The only niggle I have is getting the clear plastic cover on and off the carpet cleaner brush head smoothly. I haven’t tried the tools (awkward fit in the dog-house). Would I buy again? Yes. Must go now to buy that diamond pendant ( would I dare risk a zirconia one, hmm).

Had some work done in my house and the fitter dropped on my brand new carpet plaster dust. It really got into the carpet and hoovering alone could not remove it. Had an orange tinge stain on the carpet. So decided to use my vax carpet cleaner for the first time just using the hose attachment and spin scrub brush to clean the stain out and it worked beautifully. Stain gone and looks like nothing ever happened. Then used it to clean my rug which came out lovely as well. Refreshed and not so tired looking. It took a bit getting used to the vax carpet cleaner as a bit heavy, I thought I had got the carpet really wet. Had to pass over using the dry only function a few times, but it dried in a few hours. Considering it is not that warm at the moment it dried out really well. I will be using in the summer months to give my new carpet a refresh.

The weight of the Vax Platinum Smartwash Upright Carpet Cleaner, is 7.4kg. It will be hard to say if it is easy to lift up the stairs as this is down to the individual.

it does a decent job drying , all auto , forward wash /back to dry, and the shampoo is good also thats auto fed as well, but somehow i got musty smelling carpets , thats using vax shampoo as well , so was happy but not so now

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Vax Platinum Smartwash Upright Carpet Cleaner:
I can confirm the machine does not have any sort of a heating element to it. However, it will suck up a lot of the water to the point that it will only take a few hours to dry once completed, especially during the summer in warm weather.
