I bought this fire 5 months ago and it’s been one of my better ideas. It is really lifelike to watch the flames smoke and flicker, and the heater part is very good, warm and economic al to use. Gives a lovely centre point to my living room

Fire effect was impressive but...
We felt that the effect of the fire was pretty realistic, but there was an annoying gurgle as the water used for this warmed up. Probably wouldn't be a problem in a room with a bit of background noise, but we had planned to put it in a quiet room. We also didn't like the very obvious 'Dimplex' sign on the front! Returned it to Argos without any problems.

Cheery stove, great flame effect
The stove is very comforting and makes a big difference these cold days, it's a little expensive but the flame effect makes it a worthwhile purchase

Looks good and keeps us warm!
Perfect for warming a small space, and lovely to have the flame effect without the heat. We have it based in the corner of our room but it's quite portable, unlike other models which are bigger and far too heavy to move around. Simple to operate and it has a remote control to make it even easier! Flame effect can be a gentle or a roaring fire. Note that the hearth pad doesn't come with the fire, it was a separate purchase.

Dimplex Electric Fire
We wanted a wood burning stove but are not allowed one where we live so bought this using information from Argos, price was good but the catalogue photo looks more fire like than the actual unit. It also needs FILTERED WATER ? Its very light so easy to move around and is probably the next best thing to a real stove. Its black but the cable is white, a black cable would have been better.

After contacting our suppliers they have advised for Dimplex Evandale 2kW Optimyst Electric Stove Fire
There is a fan in the sump which blows the mist upwards through the slot. This can be heard slightly but should not be very loud.
