Fantastic Coffee Machine

Very efficient filter coffee machine
I bought this fileter machine a few weeks ago to replace a predecessor that broke down. It functions very well, making good filter coffee rather more quickly than most of such machines thanks to the large "shower head" style design. The only downside is that it is not always easy to see the water level accurately so as to fill it to the right extent.

Great drip coffee machine
We are both really pleased with the Morphy Richards drip coffee machine. It makes great coffee, it's compact and looks good in our retro-styled kitchen. I make the coffee in two stages (have always done this with previous coffee-makers) as I like strong coffee. The night before; I remove the pot (to close the valve), rinse a No. 4 paper filter inside the permanent filter, add the coffee grounds and pour hot water over them to bloom the coffee. In the morning I fill the water reservoir & start the machine. In 10 mins I have a delicious pot of strong coffee that keeps warm on the hotplate. It's easy to use and clean, especially if you use No.4 paper filters. My other-half doesn't like such strong coffee so just adds some hot water to make an americano.

From the information we have this item can be used with Melitta cone shape paper filters, both 1 x 2 and 1 x 4 can be used.

The third image shows the filter can be removed along with the part which it sits in and that small springy item should be a anti-drip feature if im not mistaken.

The Morphy Richards 162501 Filter Coffee Machine does have an illuminated on/off switch, which makes it suitable for use with a smart plug. This means you can control it remotely by turning the smart plug on or off, as long as the coffee machine's switch is left in the "on" position.
