Very Satisfied – Highly Recommend!"
I recently ordered a from Argos, and the whole process was smooth and quick. The website was easy to use, I received a confirmation instantly, and the item was ready for collection the same day. The product works perfectly and was exactly as described. Great prices too! I’ll definitely shop at Argos again.

Reliable
These cameras are generally reliable and reasonably long lasting. As with any of them image quality is both subjective and also only precise in good light. It pays to have a separate rear camera too, not just an add-on one. It costs nearly twice as much (buying two - perhaps lower spec rear one) but has saved several thousand pounds and resulted in criminal convictions for the offender.. You choose.

Easy installation
Bought this as an upgrade. The cam is more stable than my old Nextbase with easy to install instructions. Love the SoS and Alexa features.

Rubbish
I bought this 422GW dash cam as I was looking to upgrade from the 322GW. I wish I never bothered. I wish I just bought another 322GW. I only had the 422GW installed a week and I had to take it back as the camera kept switching itself off and cutting out while recording as I drove. I ended up swapping the 422GW to the 322GW as I had a 322GW installed in my car for over 5 years and not had any issues until the last couple of months it was showing its age due to using it so much it needed replacing.

Clear picture, even at night
Great little camera, doesn't take up too much space but has a wide angle view of the road ahead. Really clear picture and easy to use app

Principally works okay but has flaws
I bought this 5 months ago. The camera recording is clear and the detail it has is good however there are issues to which I have had to speak to nextbase. The app isn’t the best to view the videos, it is extremely slow and it takes an age to get into it, that’s if you can at all. Considering it is a modern design and a very well known brand, I was extremely disappointed with the access to the videos. A big issue that I found is the recording of incidents, it wasn’t until I had an issue of a driver driving the wrong way up a dual carriageway that I checked the camera to find out it hadn’t actually been recording for 7 weeks! After consulting with nextbase it appears that formatting the camera and card every 4-6 weeks is recommended!? I’ve never known this with any other camera and find it a bizarre requirement. I’m not sure also whether the recommended sd cards are prone to failure or not but I was advised by next base that this could also be a common issue. I don’t think I would purchase a next base product again based on quality and cost.

Perfect
Between aggressive manchild or oblivious phone drivers this will save the hassle of a court case or lengthy forms to fill in. Simple send the video.

Hello Shopper,
The supplier has advised the following for the Nextbase 422GW Dash Cam with Alexa Enabled:
“ No, unfortunately not. The 422GW uses a different style connector from the Series 2 Hardwire Kit. ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
Which type of car its connected to is irrelevant. If any car continuously supplies power to a usb or 12v outlet even when the car is turned off, then the camera will have power. If it does not it wont unless wired specifically to do that by a DIYer of professional fitter. The shortcut can be to keep a well sized USB battery brick in the car, always charging. Then when you park it will run the camera in your absence.
My experience with 422 with 128gb card plus 5000mAh battery is 12 hours record
Hello there,
The supplier has advised the following for the Nextbase 422GW Dash Cam with Alexa Enabled:
It can be used in an EV. "All Nextbase Dash Cams come with a 12V Power Cable included in the box, if your car has a 12V port, simply plug it in like you would in a normal vehicle."
It may also be possible to hardwire it in, using a Nextbase hardwire kit but it will depend on the brand and model of EV as not all of them have the necessary set up to allow that.
A permanent power supply so it supplies power 24/7 to the dahs cam is required if you want to use Parking Mode. The Dash Cam's battery will be drained if the Dash Cam is not receiving power when in this mode. This does have an automatic cut-off, which kicks in if the power coming from the car gets below a certain level.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.

Hello Andrew,
The supplier has advised the following for the Nextbase 422GW Dash Cam with Alexa Enabled:
"The Dash Cam comes with a 2m USB cable, but that is only for use when connecting to a PC/Macbook to download footage and not designed for use in the car. The Dash Cam comes with a 4m Power Adapter/Cigarette Lighter Cable to use in the car. Customers can also purchase the Hardwire Kit if needed."
I hope this helps.
