New coffee machine

Smell will make you want to throw up!
Purchased this when our previous filter machine gave up after 5yrs of daily use, however I wish I’d read all the reviews first. Machine had a very cheap & flimsy feel to its construction. Doesn’t heat water very well at all, so coffee is cold within just a few minutes. However after a few days the coffee started to have a very bitter plasticky taste & smell. Also the water compartment started to give off a very strong smell of stagnant water. Followed all manufacturer recommendations for cleaning (white vinegar & water mix) multiple times but the foul taste & smell came back again within 48hrs. It got to the point that when opening the water compartment lid for just a few seconds the smell would be so bad it made us feel physically sick & we had to open all the windows in the kitchen for an hour or so for the smell to disperse. Never had any of these issues with any other coffee machine we’ve owned. Returned to store for refund.

It Makes Coffee
Coffe Drip tray is ever so slightly smaller than standard papers making them catch when closing - a small first world problem but just a niggle. There is no way to turn the beeping off - you have done making coffee well done.

Couldn't be better!
This is a first-class machine at a remarkably low price: simple to use and very easy to clean after use. I can make 2 cups or a dozen cups! No messy washing out of used grains from a cafetiiére. No wasteful "pods" to fiddle with, restricting me to a machine manufacturer: I can draw on the worldwide range of fine ground coffees available in the supermarket and specialist retailers.

There should be a danger to health warning on this product! Even after flushing this machine twice it still gave off very bad fumes which lingered throughout the house. Returned it to Argos the very next day so as to get rid of the lingering chemical smell

Great coffee with some quirks
I bought this a few weeks ago and been using near daily since. The coffee itself is great, very clean tasting and brewed well. If you buy it, pour a little bit more water in than you think because some will evaporate during the brewing process. After it indicates being done, the coffee is actually still dripping for a minute or so, but that might be due to the filter I’m using. Not super loud, but leftover water drops do make a hissing noise sometimes which is a bit scary but can get used to it easily.

Hi I just took delivery of this hoping that it would stay on all day it does not.
It as a automatic turn off after 40 mins. I'm disapointed as you would be.
I have just bought this machine. It is the ".1" version. The packaging has an eco symbol on, and it says the hotplate switches off 40 minutes after coffee delivery finishes. I haven't tried it out yet.

The Coffee Machine has a keep warm function that will work until switched off, car must be taken to to let the post dry out .

These are single use filters. You can buy these from high street stores. We currently do not sell these.
