Great little chopper
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s easy to use and easy to clean and chops really well. No idea how long it will last at this stage, but on functionality it does what is intended.

Powerful and handy kitchen essential!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this little thing, it’s powerful, it’s very very easy to clean and it fits perfectly into small spaces. The only thing that might be considered a con is that it’s fiddly, to disconnect, to take the lid off, it’s a lot of twisting in different directions but definitely win product for me!

Stylish & powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the cream to go with all my other kitchenaid products. The machine is a very light plastic and feels very fragile. It blends and chopped perfectly.

Broken lid after a year
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The chopper is good but the lid broke up, so not very good .

Hey Pesto,
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used it a few times, I purchased it to chop and blend Pesto and sauces. It’s a perfect size for the tasks at hand. There are two things that I found disappointing: in order to give the lid a thorough clean correctly the method to release the black trim from the main plastic lid, requires a dinner knife, to separate them. But beware you don’t snap the plastic tab trying to do this. There’s nothing in the instructions to tell you how to do it. We had to go to YouTube. The 2nd thing is this, in the accompanying video shows a creamer, but it’s doesn’t come with the mini chopper I already had the KitchenAid large mixer and we wouldn’t be without it, but this mini chopper is not up to KitchenAids normal high standards. Sorry.

Disappointing - difficult to clean
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found the lid almost impossible to clean. It is in two parts that are extremely fiddly to separate.

Hello Philli,
The supplier has advised the following for the KitchenAid 5KFC3516BOB Electric Mini Chopper - Black:
The user manual doesn’t specifically confirm that hummus can be made but it is likely to be able to based on what it is designed to do. It does say this though, that you can choose from one of two speed settings (chop or puree) and use the pulse function to achieve the desired results from coarse to fine.
You can chop raw fruits, veggies, or nuts, mince parsley or garlic and puree cooked foods and vegetables into a smooth consistency. The supplier says it's ideal for baby food and smooth garnishes.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi CindyL
Having checked the instructions for the KitchenAid 5KFC3516BOB Electric Mini Chopper it states:
'Use the Food Chopper to chop raw fruits and vegetables or nuts, and mince parsley, chives, or garlic for easy preparation in your favourite recipes. Purée cooked fruit or vegetables to make baby food or to use as bases for soups or sauces. You can also make bread crumbs or grind raw meat. Use the Drizzle Basin and Pour Spout to easily make mayonnaise or dressings.
NOTE: For best results, larger food items should be cut into approximately 2.54 cm cubes before processing. This step also allows processing of more food at a single time.
IMPORTANT: Do not process coffee beans or hard spices such as nutmeg, which may
damage the Food Chopper.'
I believe the chopper would be able to chop chocolate, depending on it's hardness, but would be a trial and error, to get the consistency that you require.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
