Slow speed for less spatter - perfect!
My old mixer was three speed - all fast. I chose this one based on the slow start and how slow it went as I wanted less ‘splatter’. I love how many speeds it has. It feels sturdy and the cord length is decent and can sit either left or right. The weight is a tiny bit heavier than my old one, but not too heavy and is comfortable to use. It’s amazing and I deliberated for so long - I really wish I hadn’t.

Love it!
Really quiet for a powerful motor, knocks up butter and sugar for sponges in moment, same for the cream filling. I like the ability to turn the cable connection to the left or right at the point it connects to the mixer so it doesn't matter where the plug socket is, you dont get the cable tangled up.

I recently decided that my cheapo blender had had its day and bought the Kitchen Aid hand blender. It is fabulous , I love everything about it and its a lovely colour too (pistachio) . I wish I had bought it ages ago.

Made from plastic…
I was quite surprised when I received the product to find it made of plastic. For some reason I thought the kitchen aid hand mixers were made from a light weight metal. It doesn’t fill me with confidence using it as I’m quite heavy handed, hopefully I’ll be proved wrong… On a plus side, all the attachments are a great addition and look forward to experimenting with them.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the KitchenAid 5KHM9212BER Electric Hand Mixer: In the life cycle testing at the manufacturing plant, we were able to find maximum cycles of 4 minutes being used 'under load'. This is the guideline we give to consumers. If they need for a longer period of time , we would suggest they change to a stand mixer.
