Disappointed!
I bought this watch a couple of months ago to replace my trusty Timex Indiglo. A replacement Timex was not available at the time and the Lorus was similar in price and seemed to do the same job. I was disappointed immediately with the performance of the Lorus. The back light is great when the light is first turned off but fades quickly so by the small hours when I need to know the time the face is no longer illuminated and I have to turn on the room light to read the watch.

Very disappointing watch a bd buy
I have great difficulty seeing all the details in all lights, although in the photo it is perfectly clear (and because I am disabled i bought it online).. The background is more cream coloured than white; the hands more shiny ad difficult to see in some lights; and the date too small for me to read. Illustrations of the product should be far more realistic.

Lotus mens watch
I bought this watch because it has a face that can be easily read. Unfortunately the watch supplied has a cream face and not white one as shown in the picture, the cream is a nice colour but doesn't give the same contrast with the hands of the watch as a white face would. The watch has a feature called lumbrite which means the watch can read in the dark, if you wear the watch on your wrist beneath a shirt sleeve then the daylight cannot reach the face of the watch and therefore this feature doesn't work. It keeps good time and looks quite good but I wouldn't buy again.

After contacting our suppliers they have advised for Lorus Men's Black Leather Strap Watch.
We would not recommend the customer takes the back off the watch. Although it looks like it is a snap back not a screw back.

It is easy enough to switch between English and French days, but note that the watch assumes that each month has 31 days, so you need to reset the days after the end of Feb, April, June, Sept and Nov.

The 'up to 30M' is not the distance the watch can go in water, but the pressure. 30M is in relation to splash proof/water resistant watches which should not be submersed in water but can handle small amounts of water. Where as, 50M, for example, can be submersed and used for swimming but should not be used for diving or jumping into water. Then it goes up to 100M & 200M.

This guy from argos is giving wrong information. The case back is stainless steel, the watch case is plated and the plating wears off exposing a brass case below. I spoke to lorus who confirmed this, it also happened to my watch and ruins the look of it, DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST. other sellers of this same watch describe it correctly as being plated. It is NOT stainless steel. Argos describe a few watches as stainless steel when they are not. Do your own research first!!!!
I checked with the manufacturer, I bought this watch 4 years ago from argos because it said stainless steel, a couple of years ago my watch was showing the brass case coming through the plating. Only the case back is stainless steel, do your own research, it was me that asked the original question above. The watch case is made of brass then plated, after a while it starts to get pitted , you will see the brass come through. These people at argos told me it was STEEL, IT ISNT, GOOGLE IT YOURSELF
