Doesn’t work. The only way to screw it together is to damage the base. Impossible to both have the bulb work and have the cover on.

This is a nice looking lamp. Bought as a reading light and it does the job. Nice subdued light for watching TV. Overall pleased with it. Quality is good.

Be aware, it's not dimmable.
The lamp itself is fine, I'm s bit unhappy that it's not dimmable. Looking back to the way it was advertised, I can see there was no promises of dimmable, but the bulbs recommended (not included! oh, well...) were dimmable and discussion in Reviews around dimmable created a wrong expectation. Had i known clearly it's not dimmable I would have looked somewhere else. I regards this as "clever marketing" to put it mildly.

Presently bought this small touch like for my living room side table. It has a lovely warm bright light and is perfect for when I want to see my sewing embroidery or writings. It matches a taller light with a similar lamp design. Really pleased they match.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Argos Home Opal Glass Touch Table Lamp - Chrome.
This lamp has an on/off touch function, it is not dimmable. The 3.4W LED SES dimmable light bulbs should work in the lamp but an alternative is Argos Home 4.2W LED Candle SES Light Bulb - 2 Pack.

“No — we do not recommend using a smart bulb in this touch lamp.
The lamp requires a standard E14 LED (max 6W), and smart bulbs may not function correctly with the touch‑control system.”
