Replacing wifi mesh
Since moving contract to EE from BT, we have had wifi issues with the replacement router and extenders (x3). Our house has thick walls so a wifi only mesh will not work. We are lucky enough to have a LAN so have configured operation mode as “Access Point”. This allows both wifi and LAN based access for the mesh units. No more dark zones. GREAT.

Don’t bother buying them.
Set up was easy but it certainly does not do what it says it does even for a small house, the web coverage around the house is extremely poor, some devices won’t connect to them, we still get buffering and they certainly are not worth the money. I contacted customer support and was told to move them closer to the device!! Even though they are connected via cable directly on some devices, the chat got cut off, if I hadn’t destroyed the box I would 100% take those back. They say they run 150 devices they struggle with less than 30, we still have no WiFi zones around the house, all in all I wish I hadn’t brought them they don’t do what they say they should do, so my advice is don’t buy them.

TP -Link Deco X50 AX3000
Difficult to set up..one of the nodes has to sit plugged in by cable to your wifi router. The deco app is irritating to use. I wanted plug in and go, but it's a faff about..it requires you to change all other user settings from your master WiFi..the signal is fast if you within 10ft but does not have the range suggested.. disappointed I will be taking it back

The hardware version may vary depending on the production batch and region. To identify the exact hardware version, please check the product label on the Deco unit or its packaging, where it will be shown as Ver: X.X.

Deco can connect to your existing router via Ethernet cable, but they will be two separate networks and cannot form a mesh.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for TP-Link Deco X50 AX3000 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 System 3-pack.
Yes, this is supported! You can connect the main Deco X50 unit to a LAN port of your Sky router via Ethernet cable. Please note that Deco cannot connect to your Sky router via Wi-Fi — the connection must always be through an Ethernet cable.
Here are some important things to keep in mind with this setup:
1. Wi-Fi network name: Make sure the Deco Wi-Fi network name is different from your Sky router's Wi-Fi name. If both share the same name and password, your devices may connect to either network unpredictably, which can cause issues.
2. Ethernet Backhaul: If you plan to connect all Deco units to your Sky router via Ethernet to use Ethernet Backhaul, you should set the Deco to Access Point (AP) Mode. Without AP Mode, Ethernet Backhaul will not work and may cause network issues.
3. Double NAT: By default, the main Deco acts as a router, so connecting it to your Sky router creates a Double NAT situation. For most users, this is fine and internet access will work normally. However, if you use it for gaming or as a VPN server, you may want to either:
• Set your Sky router to bridge mode, or set Deco to Access Point Mode (either option eliminates Double NAT)
• Alternatively, set up port forwarding on your Sky router to forward the required ports to Deco.
4. Satellite Deco units: Once the main Deco is connected to your Sky router via Ethernet, satellite Deco units can connect to the main Deco either wirelessly or via Ethernet.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the TP-Link Deco X50 AX3000 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 System 3-pack: each Deco X50 unit, including both main and satellite units, is equipped with three Gigabit Ethernet (1GE) ports. This means you can utilize any of the three Ethernet ports on your slave units for wired connections to devices such as PCs, smart TVs, or switches.

They Connect Wirelessly or via Ethernet (Ethernet Backhaul):
The Deco X50 units can connect to each other wirelessly to form a mesh network. However, you can also connect them together using Ethernet cables (this is called Ethernet backhaul) for better performance and stability if desired.
One Unit Acts as the Main Router:
You select one Deco unit to act as the main router (this must be connected via Ethernet to your modem or internet source).
The other two Deco units automatically become satellite nodes/extenders and can connect either wirelessly or through Ethernet.
Flexibility:
They do not need to be wired to the main Deco router unless you want to use Ethernet backhaul for faster speeds or better stability in difficult environments. Many users run them fully wirelessly."
