I returned this within a day of collecting it as without even opening it there was a pamphlet in the see through holder saying it isn’t waterproof… this is despite the description online failing to say this. Absolute waste of my time. I’m pretty angry and still waiting on my refund monies!!

Ok but tucked away in a leaflet in the package is the information that it isn’t 100% waterproof - didn’t see it till I’d covered the furniture. As a patio set protector one would expect it to be waterproof!

The answer to your question is that despite the claim that it is, it is not waterproof. In fact, a leaflet enclosed with the cover advises to remove cushions and soft furnishings before fitting the cover as water may penetrate through the seams!
