I got this to replace a gas equivalent that used electricity as well, and wasn't that efficient. I had to chip out the existing space to fit it in, but once in position, it looks actually better than the original 'living' flame one. I've had it for a week now, so hopefully it will keep going and not disappoint.

Please note that this particular model is an inset fire and must be securely fixed to the wall or fireplace surround. It is not designed to be used as a freestanding unit.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Glen Crofton 2kW Classic Brass Inset Fire - Brass: It beeps when you use the manual buttons and the remote control.
However, it does not beep with all the remote features. It will beep when you turn the fire on/off and the heat on/off.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Glen Crofton 2kW Classic Brass Inset Fire - Brass:
The electric fire is designed to be used in a fireplace opening. It is recommended that an open chimney or flue is blocked off with a non-flammable material. This is important for the efficient operation of the heating unit and will reduce heat loss up the chimney. At the rear of the fire there are 2 adjustable feet for levelling the fire. The fire is supplied with 2 screws and rawl plugs to provide extra stability to prevent accidentally being knocked over. The rawl plug provided is for use with block walls so other wall types may need alternative rawl plugs.
To install
1: Drill holes using 6mm drill.
2: Insert plugs and screws. Do not fully tighten screws, leave head of the screw at least10mm away from wall.
3: Place the keyhole slots on the fire over the screws and lower into position. If there is an obstruction preventing the unit to be flush to the wall the screws can be left protruding further than the 10mm and longer screws can be used as required.

The supplier has advised the following for the Glen Crofton 2kW Classic Brass Inset Fire - Brass:
"It fits into an existing fireplace of 16" to 18". The back of the fire is flat, but it has to be set into a fireplace."
They add the following detail too: "To reduce the risk of fire, keep textiles, curtains and or flammable material a minimum distance of 1m from the air outlet."

The supplier has advised the following for the Glen Crofton 2kW Classic Brass Inset Fire - Brass:
If the bulbs go, the fire would need to be replaced. This would be subject it to it being in warranty and the nature of the fault that has caused them to go being covered by that too, e.g. a manufacturing fault.
(Please note that these LED lamps are essentially maintenance free and they should not go and should not require replacing during the expected life of the product).
