About this product
The Nextbase Rear View Camera connects directly into your Nextbase Series 2 Dash Cam (322GW, 422GW & 522GW) to record the rear of your journey through the car with no wires needed. It uses a 30 telephoto lens to capture details of cars behind you, ensuring you are protected from tailgaters and rear end impacts. It is compatible with the following models: 322GW - 1080p front 720p rear 422GW/522GW 1080p front 1080p rear or 1440p front, 720p rear.
The Nextbase Rear View Camera uses a narrower, 30 telephoto lens to capture details of the road behind when driivng. This protects you from tailgaters and rear end impacts.
When you are using a Rear View Camera module the resolution of your front camera will automatically adjust to manage the two high resolution video files. The options for these settings are: 422/522GW Front - 1080p Rear - 1080p OR Front - 1440p Rear - 720p 322GW Front - 1080p Rear - 720p.
The Nextbase Rear View Camera can easily be installed by clicking it into the side of your front facing Nextbase Dash Cam - 322GW, 422GW & 522GW. No extra wires or cables needed.

I used one of these rear cameras for several years with my Nextbase 622GW dashcam. It recently failed, so this was a replacement. I have had no problems with this one, and the reduced price compared to the previous one was a bonus.

I got this to add to my nextbase 322gw that was fitted a while ago . I’m so glad I didn’t take any notice of the negative reviews as it was literally move position of my camera and plug it in . Picture quality is excellent and I now feel covered all around . Also got it at a vet good price 👍🏻

I bought this as I couldn’t be asked to run the cables around to the rear door of my new car. Although not as good as a rear screen mounted camera it’s certainly good enough for its purpose

Don’t think worth the money
First, the accessory didn’t fit in the port. Then manage to forced in and it was working. Now the issue is the main cam cannot download photos to my phone. When the rear view cam is removed from the main cam it’s allowing video download. Still testing the device by uninstalling Nextbase connect app and installing again. Fingers crossed. Contacted support but was asked to send a video of the issue. Not happy!

The supplier has advised the following for the Nextbase Rear View Camera With Zoom:
“ The Nextbase Rear View Camera does not require an additional micro SD card. All the footage is recorded on the front main Dash Cam, which records both front and rear footage. We recommend using a Nextbase microSD card for this. The Nextbase 32GB Go Pack is recommended for this. ”

You cant manually zoom in. Because this fits into the existing front camera, rather than at the rear of the car, it has a telephoto lens to show a zoomed-in image of the rear of the car, otherwise it would be mostly interior with a small rear window in the video.

Hello Rachel. Yes, it will still capture detail and guard you against tailgaters and rear end impacts. Footage might be slightly darker though, I would consider looking at the Nextbase Rear Window Camera add on. Thanks, Nextbase
