Lid really annoying - not just because it gets hot
Scoville pans are pans. Seem perfectly fine when new out of the box but time will tell if they start to disappoint. The lids are a different story. It's almost as if somebody has designed them so that they purposefully trap bits of food between the rim and the glass top, then make cleaning that part very difficult, and, after washing, make sure that the same part cannot be dried. As others have noted, the lids do get hot but tbh they do have a big warning about this and it is this that makes them oven proof. Having said that, I would have bought a non oven proof set had I realised how hot the handles and lids get from the hob. I thought having oven proof saucepans would be handy - turns out, that's not true for me as I have a casserole for that. My advice, fwiw, only buy this range if you are definitely going to use them in the oven, otherwise buy the ones with the rubber handles and lids that are cooler to touch, and be aware that cleaning the lids of whatever range you buy might be an issue. Luckily I have lids from old pans that do not suffer the same design flaw.

Hi Allan,
The Scoville Neverstick Performance 3 Piece Pan Set 886/1667 are model no. 1318 and are 6X stronger than other non-sticks kitchenware.
The Scoville 3 Piece Non Stick Aluminium Pan Set 540/8968 are model no.1028 and 5x stronger than other non-stick kitchenware.
So the specs are very similar in size and the hobs they can be used on but 886/1667 are stronger,

Hi there Nige, I am not sure if you mean that the pans are terrible or that induction hobs are terrible.
Anyway these pans are supposed to be suitable for all of these hob types: gas, electric, halogen, induction, ceramic and solid hotplates. hope that helps

Yes they are safe for the oven it is written on the front of the box
They have stainless steel handles so i assume they should be ok in the oven like other products.
