The Argos Home Stern PIR Lantern brings automatic outdoor lighting to your porch or wall without any fiddling with switches. The built-in infrared sensor detects movement and switches the light on instantly, flooding the area with brightness for guests arriving after dark. The stainless steel construction suits modern homes and adds a contemporary touch to walls and outdoor spaces. Perfect for front doors, back patios, or side entrances where you want security lighting and a welcoming glow.
The motion sensor saves energy by only lighting up when needed, then switching off after a set time. The sleek lantern design works well with contemporary outdoor decor. The steel casing stands up to regular outdoor use. You'll need to supply one bulb separately, giving you the choice of brightness and colour temperature to suit your space. Simple wall mounting keeps it secure and positioned where you need light most.

Looks great in the porch
Well pleased with this light,, not only does it look good, its much brighter than the light it replaced, we have it on from dawn to dusk, it picks up any movement which is the main reason we bought it And it was a really good price, would recommend

Nice looking light, but the PIR is useless.
Nice looking light, I fitted a 7W Warm White LED ES Lamp which is plenty bright enough for my needs. The light was pretty straightforward to fit although I did have to make my own cable entry hole in the back of the unit because the original location was in the wrong place. The only downside to this light is that it is way way too sensitive & just keeps constantly turning itself on all of the time. There is no sensitivity adjustment which is crazy & the only adjustments you have is for the length of time the light stays on for which is good, but also a LUX setting which allows the light to work during day light which is a complete waste of time having & doesn't stop.the light from coming on during dusk anyway! I'm considering returning the light, but I'll see what customer services say first.

Quite good
Works pretty much as expected. One minor issue is that the range of the movement sensor is quite long and I can't adjust it so it activates when cars go and people walk past my house as I don't have a long front garden.

Looks good but….disappointing
This item did not work properly for my property, it stayed in all night electrician came back twice to adjust settings etc. but still couldn’t get it to work correctly so ended up returning it which was a shame as loved the stylish design.

The range cannot be adjusted, only the light level (e.g. darkness, dusk or daylight) and the illumination time.

The PIR detects heat or movement in a fan shaped arc approx 110 degrees for a distance up to 7metres. The detection distance depends on height installation and weather conditions. You can set the time light is on though from 10secs to 5 mins.
