About this product
The Samsung T7 Portable SSD is for anyone who moves large files regularly and can't wait around. This compact drive uses USB 3.2 Gen 2 and PCIe NVMe technology to deliver read speeds up to 1050MBs and write speeds up to 1000MBs, about 9.5 times faster than traditional external hard drives. Whether transferring 4K video projects, backing up your photo library, or moving work files, the T7 does it in seconds, not minutes. With 2TB of storage, there's plenty of room for everything you need to take with you.
The solid state design means there are no moving parts inside to fail or slow you down, and the sturdy metal body protects your data even if you drop it. It's about the size of a credit card and weighs just 70g, so it slips easily into a pocket or bag. The drive comes with 256-bit hardware encryption to keep sensitive files secure, and it works with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 connections for broad compatibility across devices. Samsung includes a 3-year limited hardware guarantee for added peace of mind.

Excellent product - Highly recommended!
I bought 2 of these to use for storage of image files. They are easy to set up and run faster than a portable hard drive. In fact, they run fast enough that I can run Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop directly from the drive rather than loading files onto my pc to edit and print. By holding all of the image files on these drives it means that my pc runs faster and has fewer issues. I would highly recommend these to anyone who needs to store and edit large and numerous image files.

Hello miss,
The supplier has advised the following for the Samsung T7 USB 3.2 Gen 2 2TB Portable SSD:
“ Yes, this is possible. ”
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hello Andrew,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Samsung T7 USB 3.2 Gen 2 2TB Portable SSD: ''The Samsung T7 USB 3.2 Gen 2 2TB Portable SSD does not require any extensive setup on a PC before using it with a PlayStation 5. However, there are a few important steps and considerations to ensure compatibility and proper functioning:
1. Check File System Format:
*The PS5 requires external storage devices to be formatted in exFAT or FAT32.
*The Samsung T7 typically comes pre-formatted as exFAT, so you likely won't need to reformat it. However, you can double-check this:
-Connect the SSD to a PC.
-On Windows: Right-click the drive in File Explorer > Properties > Check the file system.
-On macOS: Open Disk Utility and check the format of the SSD.
*If reformatting is needed, use exFAT, as FAT32 is limited to files under 4GB.
2. Optional Setup via Samsung Software (PC/Mac):
*The Samsung T7 SSD includes optional security and management software (Samsung Portable SSD Software) for setting passwords or managing firmware updates.
*Note: Password protection or encryption set via the Samsung software will not work on the PS5. If you plan to use security features, disable them before connecting the SSD to the PS5.
3. Connect the SSD to the PS5:
*Plug the SSD directly into one of the PS5’s USB Type-A ports or USB-C port (with a compatible cable). The PS5 supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 for external storage.
4. Format for PS5 (if needed):
*The PS5 might ask to format the drive if it doesn’t recognize the file system. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
*Keep in mind that formatting on the PS5 will erase all data on the drive.
The Samsung T7 can only be used for storing PS4 games and multimedia files (videos, music, screenshots).
PS5 games cannot be played directly from external drives, but you can move them back and forth between the SSD and internal storage to save space.''
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hi Patrick,
Yes, assuming your specific model TV supports external SSD's up to 2TB in size.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Bilbo,
Yes, the two supplied USB-cable type-C on C and type-C on A enable the connection to PCs, Macs, Android devices, smart TVs and game consoles.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Nick,
I can advise the following on the Samsung T7 USB 3.2 Gen 2 2TB Portable SSD Hard Drive:
Yes, but only for storage of PS5 games and not playing them. PS4 games and below will play and store on this drive once it's been set up correctly within the PS5.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello there,
This will depend on the file format and video size, ie 1080 or 4K. HDR information also increased the size of the file. I won't be able to offer how much you can store on this without knowing the setting that you are going to use.
You will be able to edit on this if you are connecting this to a computer for storage.
I hope this helps,
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello there,
This will work but only for legacy game storage and not next gen games.
I hope this helps,
Thanks for using Q&A.
