Perfect for Newborns
Bought this for myself and a family friend as a gift and couldn’t recommend it enough, it allows me to relax a little more at bed time knowing that this item is on her.

Anxiety relief!
Obviously we all know the struggles of postpartum anxiety, I was spending nights just watching baby sleep. This little thing has given me much needed relief. Works every time, I can see it matches his breathing and even flashes red when he holds his breath so I can see it's accurate. I love the fact it is visual (green/red light) and has an audio feature (a little ticker when they take a breath) It is also endorsed (brand partners) with/by the lullaby trust. £100 is alot of money, yes, but for the sleep it has saved me i think it's worth it!

Not the best
This device is quite bulky so depending on your little one they may not like it. I found that the device would get quite hot and make my baby irritable. She would scream and squirm when it was on her so I removed. I emailed Snuza customer service about this and they weren’t helpful at all so I returned it for a full refund.

Snuza hero
Fab device. Used since birth and has really given me peace of mind and allowed me to sleep!! Only thing is now that baby is a little older, it can leave red marks on belly so you need to be careful with placement

Hello Luce.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Snuza HeroMD Mobile Baby Breathing Monitor.
Yes – it would still work.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hi There.
Snuza HeroMD Mobile Baby Breathing Monitor:
Having checked the instructions and with the information available, it monitors your baby's breathing movement whilst sleeping. To provide early intervention of any interrupted breathing. The unit does not measure oxygen levels.
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Snuza HeroMD Mobile Baby Breathing Monitor: Our Snuza Monitors were not designed for this unfortunately. It detects the abdominal movements of baby's between ages 0-12 months. This is then translated into breathing movements. It is more accurate with babies 1 years and younger. The older a child gets, the less accurate it becomes as adults/older kids move a lot more and will detect this which will not breathing movement. So we would not recommend it for this purpose. Please be advised, that our Snuza monitors hasn't been tested for seizures or other conditions, so it would be experimental should you wish to make a purchase and therefore we cannot say for certain whether it will work for you or not.
Sorry that we cannot give you a more definitive answer at this point. We are also not aware of any other monitor that you can use for your situation unfortunately.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Nat.

The monitor will work if the baby is not on their back due to the versatility and size of the device.
Please note: the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends that babies be placed on their back unless advised otherwise by a doctor.
Thank you for using Q & A.

Hi Kath.

Thanks for using Q & A.
Hello Leo13,
The supplier has advised the following for the Snuza HeroMD Mobile Baby Breathing Monitor:
“ The Snuza Hero MD was designed to continuously monitor your baby's breathing while they sleep. It's the world's first medically certified baby breathing monitor, and is clinically proven to detect if a baby stops breathing. If your baby's breathing stops, the Hero MD will gently vibrate to rouse your baby after 15 seconds. If breathing is still not detected after a further 5 seconds, the Hero MD will alarm so that you can act and respond quickly. Knowing if your baby stops breathing increases the probability of resuscitation. The Snuza Hero MD is powered by a replaceable CR2 battery.
It needs to complete a quick self-test by placing it on a flat/stationery surface each time it is switched on and before clipping onto your baby's diaper/nappy. This start-up test will run which tests all indicator lights, vibration simulator, the audible alarm and battery level. If a failure of any item is detected, the Self-Test Failure Alarm will sound and the device cannot be used.
The Hero MD does not connect to an app so you are unable to see any record of their breathing pattern , but the HeroMD detects even the slightest abdominal movement and will alert you if your Breathing rate is below 8 breaths per minute. ( the breathing light will flash red/orange and will sound a Dual-tone beep sound every second) If the breathing rate increases to over 8 breaths per minute, the breathing indicator light will reset to green (normal) and the warning will stop.
Hope this answers the question. ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
