No, it works with electricity and is very powerful.

There is an electrical wire attached underneath . It does not work with batteries

It gives you grreat protection from a lot of health disorder for lack of Vit C ,,one glass of fresh orange juce daily is real guarantee for all day freshness and activity ,,,back to your question ,,may be you are not familiar with orange juicer electric any brand ,,,you know you need to pla e the container in place ,,,then turn the container till you feel click ,,by doing this is great security from manuffacturer to be sure the container is completely fixed to the base so when start in operation will be safe and never fly and cause accident ,,,,,
Then when you cut orange to 2 hallver towards its central line not via its tip I mean not toward the attachment point of the orange to its tree ,,,,enjoy your orange juice and try to offer orange juicer as gift to other people or advice them to have it ...
