Useful little device
Having recently got a new laptop, I was gobsmacked to discover it has no SD card slot. This little device plugs in to a USB port and alows quick transfer of photos and film from my camers.

Card Reader - Fine so far
I bought this card reader about 2 weeks ago because I needed something to enable me to continue transferring photos from my camera to my computer. It came nicely packaged, felt reasonably well-made, and worked first time so I was easily able to transfer a batch of photos. I found that I had to use the extension cable that comes with it - the built-in cable was so short that I couldn't reach the USB sockets that are deeply recessed on my particular computer. The card reader has slots for several different card sizes, but I've only used it using an SD-sized card. As I've only used it once so far, I can't say anything about how reliable it will be or how long it will last.

Works mostly as intended
It works decently well, however I have had a few issues with certain SD cards that I haven't had trouble with on others. This may be related to the card rather than the reader, the build quality could also be better but overall does the job for the price paid.

"The adapter in question is designed for standard CompactFlash cards rather than CompactFlash Express, which wouldn’t be able to run at full speed due to limits of the USB 3.0 interface."

You may well find that your smart T.V. already accepts s.d.cards without need for additional card readers.And with a micro card adapter which comes with many devices and micro s.d.cards,you could probably view micro cards as well on the T V.

After checking with the supplier, I can confirm this PNY 600MBs High Performance 3.0 Flash Card Reader is only compatible with Laptop's and PC's running the following system requirements:
System requirement: Windows and Mac compatible - Windows® 8, Windows® 7, Windows® Vista, Windows® XP, Windows®ME, Windows® 2000, Mac® OS 9.1 and later, Linux® kernel 2.4.2 or later

No. It’s a card reader not a phone reader.
You will need to transfer your photos onto your computer first via iCloud or a Lightning cable and then use this to copy the photos onto a memory card.
