Great prodict
Excellent product and super price. Struggled to find a good wifi solution for a static caravan which was at at realistic price. This solved my problem and was super easy to set up. I bought and use with a 'Smarty' data only sim card.

Easy to set up & use
Bought after researching 4g & 5g devices. This represented pretty good value for more than good enough performance. No buffering. Works fine so far

Great for Caravan WiFi
Bought this to use in our Caravan, its 12v so can be fed from the 12v circuits in the caravan which helps when off grid. We use this with external antenna (you need to enable them via the app if you use them too) but it does have very good 4G reception without them too. Occasionally the router will crash when its sat idle with no internet traffic for the day so a quick restart and its good to go again, perhaps thats part on the network too.

Works as intended
Found this easy to set up but would always recommend separating the 2.4 and 5 ghtz as you may get slower results than expected

TP-Link MR515 AC1200 4G+ Router V1
The item supplied was an Archer MR515 AC1200 router, VERSION V1. You need to know the version number if you are downloading info from the TP_Link website. It's shown on the box, and can also be found using the Tether app. It has sockets for external aerials (two are needed) if required. At my location, the mobile signal is not too good. The router mostly shows 1 light, sometimes 2, but performance is fine and doesn't justify the expense and hassle of going to external aerials. Three passwords are needed to setup and use the Tether app with any particular device.

Upgraded Three provided Huawei router
My Three provided router was old and Three no longer offer great value upgrade offers, so needed a new router. Researched the market and this TP-Link model seemed good - am really pleased with it so far, with great speeds, great controls (app & device website), and it's a pleasing design too. Only negative is that it's warmer to touch than my Three router - maybe it's just my old Huawei router dissipated heat differently/better, rather than this TP-Link device using much more electricity… Would thoroughly recommend 👍🏻

Very good product
I bought this item about a month ago. It has been very good so far. I have mainly used it to connect to my phones and a TV. It was also very easy to set up initially. All I needed was a working sim card.

Hello James,
I can advise the following for the TP-Link MR515 AC1200 4G+ Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router:
This is possible if you are referring to the Wi-Fi based Security Camera that requires 2.4ghz network connections.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the TP-Link ArcherMR515 AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router: The TP-Link Archer AX12 does not include a SIM card slot, so it’s not compatible with SIM cards for cellular connectivity.
It’s designed to work with a wired Ethernet WAN connection—no 3G/4G via SIM, USB modem, or DSL. If you're looking for a router that supports SIM cards, then we can advise MR200 4G router which supports Nano sim card slot.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the TP-Link Archer AC1200 Wireless Dual-Band Wi-Fi 4G Router: No, it’s not designed to be used as an extender or extension router.
The Archer MR515 is mainly a 4G LTE router:
It’s designed to provide internet using a SIM card (4G mobile data).
It can also share internet via Ethernet WAN in some cases (as backup or main connection).
It creates its own Wi-Fi network for devices to connect.
If you need a device that extends Wi-Fi coverage, you’d want a Wi-Fi Range Extender like RE200 or a Mesh System (like TP-Link Deco).
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi ED,
Archer MR505 supports 64/128-bit WEP, WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Personal, WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Corinne,
MR505 plugged in using a Power Adapter.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Jord,
SIM card(3G/4G) Router Mode is the default mode. Once you insert a compatible and unlocked SIM card, the router becomes plug-and-play.
If there is no internet after installing the SIM card, please manually configure the router by referring: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2845/...
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Keith,
If you do not have a SIM card, you can use this router as a normal wifi router plugged into your modem.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello there,
The supplier has advised the following for the TP-Link Archer AC1200 Wireless Dual-Band Wi-Fi 4G Router:
"In the UK, you have several strong options for SIM cards that would work well for your needs, including moderate internet browsing, downloading apps, and using a router. Here are some of the best choices: Vodafone, EE, O2 and Three. Please check on their respective websites the best possible options regarding 4G/5G coverage in your location, and suitable plan options for your data needs."
(This info is subject to change of course and, when referring to “best” here, the supplier is basing this upon your query here only and there may be other factors you would also wish to consider in terms of what’s best for your own requirements. These are essentially what they believe would be suitable suggestions you should consider).
