Great improvement on the legacy vax units!
I’ve had a couple of Vax carpet washers over the years and this is so much better. The wash on forward stroke, dry on reverse stroke works great and one of the drawbacks of the previous machine - the automix function which often foamed up and sometimes leaked after switching the power off This unit has a stain shot function which allows you to concentrate on specific marks on the carpet, refill the reservoir with fresh water and all but dry the carpet afterwards It’s also much lighter than the old units and easier to manoeuvre and store With dogs there’s often little marks left on upholstered and carpeted surfaces and this makes easy work of them!

I bought this as part of a test program. Setup is easy to attach the handle/hose clip and faceplate. Filling the water tank had to be done with a jug due to the central location of the filling point on the tank. I found the cleaner once turned on to be much louder than a vacuum cleaner of hard floor cleaner, So pet owners like me need to take precautions. I have used it on white and coloured carpet that is almost 24 years old and it performed better than expected. On the white carpet it is mostly ingrained with pet stains, With a couple of passes of the main head and some work with the hose and tools it had significantly reduced the staining. The blue carpet has traffic from outdoors and again I repeated the process as before and the carpet was significantly cleaner. Cleaning the machine after use was easy to remove the faceplate and brush to rinse clean and replace. The stainshot mode is a great feature for dealing with ingrained stains to reduce and remove them. The smartwash/dry feature work perfectly and left the carpets almost dry to the touch after several minutes.

I have owned almost every Vax machine that has ever been made and I have to stay compare this new shampooer to the Platinum Smartwash Pet Design shampooer and this one wins hands down it has gotten out of the carpet stains that were just too much for the Platinum and it is so light and easy to move and it cleans it's own hose, no losing hoses as the hose is attached to the machine. With the VAX MaxClean you have a little pull leaver to operate the hose mechanism and to return it to the floor machine

Purchased a couple of weeks ago and used straight away, I was so pleased with results although appalled with the filthy water that came out of my rugs, who knew they were so dirty! A great machine

Absolutely brilliant carpet cleaner! The VAX MaxClean Stainshot Pet Carpet Cleaner has made dealing with pet stains and everyday spills so much easier. It’s easy to use and powerful enough to lift stubborn marks and freshen up carpets and upholstery really effectively. I especially love how quickly it tackles muddy paw prints and pet accidents without having to spend ages cleaning. A fantastic product for any pet owner and definitely worth the money!
