Doesn’t glide so easily and less steam
This iron is new to Argos (Sept 2026) and had no reviews a week before this review, although there are some now, but the specification seemed great. Selecting a new iron was difficult because across all price points the reviews were all between 4 and 4.5 stars so no differentiation for higher prices resulting in better quality reviews. My old Tefal was good but I had to top it up with water a lot and it did occasionally deposit wet brown stains which was probably because I didn’t clean it out although I did use filtered water and empty it after use. All Tefal reviews mentioned water droplets being left behind so I was discouraged by this. So I decided to go by specification alone: a long cord, large water tank, low power, affordable, easy glide, light weight, appealing enough colour. Not great in reality. Plus points: Cord was really long - a plus for being able to iron from both sides of the ironing board. The tank of water lasted a long time. It heated up in less than 5 seconds. It was light. Negatives: The non-stick plate actually was a little sticky. It worked fine much of the time but occasionally it dragged the garment behind it. I did not like this. The water tank cover opened left to right so the lid was to the right of the hole when opened. For a right handed person this meant it was in the way of the jug I was using to fill the tank so I had to pour from higher up. The heat selection button was on the top part of the handle and so under your hand when holding the iron. Several times I switched from high to low heat without realising it. The soleplate was not covered in steam emitting holes, unlike other irons. There are holes in a V shaped line around the side edges only. I think this made it less efficient as I had to go over areas twice, especially if the garment was dragged and the crumpled. In summary a good price, good specification but not as efficient and comfortable to use as I would want.

Very light to hold.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lovely looking modern iron that is very light to hold, the steam part of the iron is not very noisy but powerful enough to get creases out. it glides very well over fabric without sticking. All in all a very nice looking light to hold iron.

Simple set up and easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great, simple iron. It has three temperature settings that make it easy to set and go, without any guessing. The large water tank is enough to get through a few pieces of clothing when using the steaming function, and the iron itself seems durable and sturdy.

Successful upright ironing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having already purchased the Russell and Hobbs handheld genie steamer, I was looking forward to comparing this with the fabric luxe iron. The weight of the luxe iron is slightly lighter and that makes it easier when using the upright function. I've also had no problems with using the iron upright, with no water leakages. There is a little delay before the steam kicks in and I find myself hitting the wrong button and spraying the water instead of steam, causing a wet patch, but other than that I've had no problems.

Super easy to use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Russell hobbs fabric luxe iron is easy to use. The water fill cap has a big enough opening so the water flows in easily, the temperature control is a simple button click and the power cable is long enough to reach so I didn't need to use an extention cable, just to top it all off it's not overly expensive. Clothes were left looking immaculate after being used.

Yes, the iron still works perfectly fine if you do not put water in it. You do not need to fill up the water tank unless you explicitly want to use the steam or water spray features. If you use it empty, it simply acts as a traditional dry iron.
