A real improvement on older Vax's

Excellent, I have a heavy duo plus non automatic wash/dry vax and found this max clean version to be much lighter, really good automatic wash/dry and modes spot clean, dry only really good. The worst thing about carpet cleaners is the cleanup of the bristles in the bars, but with max clean it was much quicker and easier to release and clean,. Well done Vax. I thought I would miss the auto dosing for the cleaning fluid, but it's simple to do and if a large amount left over just store in a clean or previous plastic carpet cleaner bottle. The carpets cleaned surprisingly well as I had spin scrub on the older vax and thought one bar might not be as good, but I was wrong and less things to clean. All in all , the upgrades are fantastic over the older model. All the add-ons fir on the Vax neatly. The weight with all add-ons is less the just the old Vax with no add-on's. Drying feature better than before and automatic wash/dry and other modes make this a pleasure to use.

Brillaint Carpet Washer

Very impressed so far. Smaller than our previous Platinum Power Max that this replaces so easier to move around. Easy to set up and use. Most importantly cleaned carpets very well, sucked out loads of dirt and all carpets were dry within the hour. Also so easy to clean afterwards, unlike previous Platinum Power Max, brush bar just lifts out as do the debri collector, filters and the hose rince function is great. Makes whole carpet cleaning process so much less of a chore. All feels very well thought out and hopefully will provide years of trouble free carpet washing backed by 6 yr warranty.

Great Cleaner

Having previously purchased the Vax Smartwash I was looking forward to trying this new cleaner to see if it was up to expectations. On opening the box the first thing I see was the instruction book so I took a minute or two to read this so I already knew that there was a couple of parts that needed to be attached to the machine before using and this was done in a flash. The machine was very easy to use and like the Platinum it has the wash (moving forwards) and dry function (moving backwards) The cleaning hose is a brilliant addition and was so easy to swap between a floor cleaner and a spot cleaner. There is also a debris catcher which was equally as impressive and easy to empty. For the solution tank you fill this to the marked line with warm water then to the next line with the solution. The only issue I had was that it was difficult to measure how much of each you put in if you only wanted to do a small wash unlike the Platinum which has seperate tanks for the clean water and solution so if any solution was unused it could be poured back into the bottle. The brush bars are easy accessible without using a screwdriver so much easier to clean. The addition of the system to clean the machine (using the hose) when finished is also another useful function. As mentioned in other reviews the dirty water tank isn’t over big but that didn’t really cause any issues. Overall this machine is easy to use and easy to clean at the end and gives a good result. And there’s a 6 year guarantee on this machine which I think is really good.

It's ok - not as good as the Platinum though

Bought this a week ago as a replacement for my Vax Platinum. Vax Platinum was a great carpet cleaner but I'm guessing a lot of the parts were 3D printed as they would frequently break and have to be replaced. So, bit the bullet and bought the 'maxclean'. It's identified some of the issues with the platinum and rectified them - not least, it's much easier to access all the brush bars and remove them etc without having to use a screwdriver. That's really helpful. However, there are some real disadvantages as well. The dirty water tank isn't very big meaning you're not cleaning that long before you have to stop, empty, rinse, replace. The fresh water tank isn't an automix meaning you are trying to use a big bottle to put a relatively small amount of liquid in. The Platinum is auto-mix and is miles better. Also, the screw lid for the fresh water tank is very easy to screw on, but slightly cross thread meaning the water in the tank isn't secure and empties into the electrics of the machine and trips the electrics to the whole ground floors of your house... ask me how I know! The sensor which determines if you are going forward (washing) or backwards (drying) is a nice touch and so is the built in hand tool - the plug in option on the Platinum machine is a pain in the backside. Look cleaning quality is actually pretty good and as a spot washer or a machine where you want to do a single carpet only, this is decent enough. We tend to try and clean all the downstairs carpets, or all the stairs etc - it's probably not quite 'family sized' to do that.

Easy to use, easy to clean after use

I have used this carpet cleaner on a very dirty carpet (2 large dogs in house) and was really pleased with the result. Also the cleaner was really easy to take apart and clean after using.

Great features

I love the new compact size and that the hose is attached, makes it so much easier to use.it has really given my carpets a very deep clean. The carrying handle is also much better place.
