Very usable and useful
This is easy to set up, but needs a power socket and connection to WIFI. It also needs internal storage in order to record (if you don't want to have a monthly subscription). Used a 32Gb microSD card and this seems to be able to record enough (and can loop once it is full up). The camera is staic but can be switched on to record remotely. Tried it inside to check on the dog, and again through a window to the garden. Both activated well on movement detection, both had good screen images when there was enough light. The camera is on a short pod and can be screwed onto a surface for a more permanent installation. The notifications to a mobile were very good, but can be annoying so the camera will not be switched on all the time.

This is my second purchase. After years of excellent experience with the first one, this second purchase is no different for its long range of plus features - easy to set up, reliable service and so on. I use it on my window sill after I found out somebody damaged my parked car. It gives crystal clear high resolution views on my mobile both day and night. It is sensitive and gives an alert if any obstruction is in the view. and it covers a wide view angle. Wi-fi connectivity is simple and reliable. That is why it is my favourite home security camera.

1. Initial Setup: First, you'll need to set up the camera with Wi-Fi connection (this is required for initial configuration of wireless cameras).
2. Insert SD Card: Insert a compatible microSD card into the camera.
3. Enable Recording: In the Tapo app, go to camera settings > Storage & Recording > Recording Schedule page, and enable either Continuous Recording or Detection Recording.
4. Relocate Camera: Once configured, you can move the camera to an area without Wi-Fi/internet.
5. Power On: The camera will continue recording to the SD card automatically, even without Wi-Fi.
Accessing Your Recordings:
Since the camera will appear offline in the Tapo app without Wi-Fi, you have two options to view your recordings:
• Remove the SD card and insert it into a computer using an SD card reader
• Reconnect the camera to Wi-Fi temporarily, then check recordings via the Tapo app's Playback & Download page

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Tapo C100 1080P Wi-Fi Indoor Security Camera.
Here’s how you can do this using the Tapo app:
1. Open the Tapo app and go to Home. Tap to view your Tapo C100 camera.
2. Tap 'Playback & Download' and go to the 'Playback' page.
3. Make sure you have selected the SD Card video section (tap the SD Card icon).
4. Navigate to the timeline and find the segment you want to extract.
5. Tap on the screen, then tap the scissors icon. Adjust the timeline and move the arrows to select your target video segment (the duration can be up to 10 minutes, so a 1-minute segment is supported).
6. Tap 'Clip & Download.' The clipped segment will be saved directly to your phone’s album if storage permission for the Tapo app is enabled. You can also find it under camera Playback & Download > Download page, from where you can share or save it to your phone’s gallery.
Please ensure your phone and camera are on the same network if you want to download SD card recordings remotely.

The detection feature of the camera is related to factors such as the installation position, the motion, the settings configured on the camera, etc. It is not recommended to place the camera behind glass. If the camera is installed behind glass, infrared lights may cause reflection, resulting in blurry and unclear images, thereby hindering the timely detection of moving objects, especially in nighttime scenes.

It is possible to turn the image, on the App,
On the Home page of the Tapo app, tap your camera model card to go to the live view page. Then, tap the icon in the top right corner to enter the Device Settings page.
Tap Video & Display on the device settings page, and toggle the Invert Image option on or off to rotate the image 180°.

Absolutely.
I have 2 of them to monitor my african grey movements when not with her.
You can chose to record motions or and people.
When sitting with her I switch off the motions, only switching them back when needed.
Those cameras are very good and without subscription.
No, it is only a plug in, and a very unexpensive one that works well 24 7.
