Hi Paul,
Looking online the recommended size binoculars for watching cricket are either 8×42 or 10×50. As both of these will give you good magnification, whilst also letting in enough light to see the image clearly, even in lower lighting conditions.

DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN DIRECTLY WITH BINOCULARS

This has 16x magnification so you will have a better view however at least 50x magnification is advised for the stars and moon.

The supplier has advised the following for the Celestron Upclose G2 16x32 Binoculars:
"The 862/7571 cannot be mounted on a tripod.
If this is a requirement, the customer could consider the 932/8518 which can be mounted on a tripod and includes the required adapter."

Close focusing distance is the minimal distance on which an image is observable. In this case this is 26ft
