I heated up some oil on an electric stove and within 40 seconds, remnants from the coating in the bottom started to come off the pan and into the oil. Very concerning

I bought these and am using on an induction hob. They work OK, and due to the general lightness of construction they have low thermal mass and heat the food quickly. How it affects the internal coating is not yet known..
If ANY pan has a carbon steel base then it will work on an induction hob even if the manufacturers specs dont specifically mention induction.
Its simple science really.
So if this pan set has a carbon steel base and is flat bottomed then it will work on induction hobs. Curved bottomed pans do not work very well if at all on induction hobs irrespective of the material from which they are made.

hi Abi the supplier of these pans advise that the hob types that these pans are suitable for are only gas, electric, as they dont mention Halogen, I would avoid putting them on a halogen hob.

I would think its unlikely - I don't have a halogen hob and in all truth I now longer have the pans as they really were great quality and things did stick.
