Premium quality, but not perfect.

Very happy with this purchase. The build quality on these is fantastic, as well the sound is great. My only two reservations are the price point and the tightness of the band. It falls firmly in the premium price point, which is perhaps slightly higher than I would’ve anticipated. The band also is not as tight as I would’ve hoped for, as leaning forwards or backwards I can feel them slipping off.

Hearing platform reaches new heights for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My headphone history has been at the lower end, so this headset was a very interesting experience. Straightforward setup using the Sound Connect application. The storage case is of excellent quality and would say a little quirky in its design. Headphones fitted comfortably and noticed very lttle background noise. Started listening to music from Spotify and found the clarity was high end. Found the seperation between singing and music pronounced with background noise minimal. Upped the volume which made for better reproduction and clarity. Having now used for 2 hours in the home, found the headset comfortable with minimal discomfort. As a premier headset i will enjoy far more than in the past. In conclusion they are a high end and they demonstrate this!

Exquisite sound and flawless craftsmanship.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first impression on opening the carry case was seeing immediately the high quality of the headset. It looked fantastic with polished metal parts machined to a very high standard and the faux leather ear pieces add that certain feel of quality and luxury. The charging of the headset was easily done via the USB ‘C’ cable and, as I use my mobile for music normally, I paired the headset to my mobile with no problems. It was a simple procedure of pressing the power button on the headset, turn on ‘bluetooth’ on your phone or whatever your music is stored on and the pairing happens automatically. It helps to install the ‘Sound Connect App’ before starting the pairing. I had it installed already because I have various items I use the app for. I am retired now but still found the headset and instructions very easy to understand. When I put on the headset I was very pleased that my ears fitted inside the cups easily because I normally have trouble with fitting headsets but this time it was a perfect fit and very comfortable to wear. The faux leather finish was ideal and gave the headset the ‘premium look’. However, a minor point is that I am not sure how the faux leather will stand up to repeated use in all conditions. I think cleaning may be a problem after a few years use, but time will tell. The overall sound quality is simply superb. Without doubt, the best sound quality I have ever heard from any headset I’ve ever owned and I have owned may over the years. The noise cancelling is very effective and enables the listener to be completely cut off from the outside world while being fully immersed in the music being played. I listen to a lot of classical music and the clarity is second to none. Individual instruments playing are clearly heard and vocals are as realistic as if the sound source is right in front of you. I also do lots of walking and found that this headset is ideal when out and about in the countryside and the long battery life is handy when away from home. The ability to control various functions such as Play/Pause, Skip Tracks, Increase and decrease volume is provided on the touch sensor control panel. These functions are quite easy to master after a few minutes of practice and full instructions are given in the Quick Start Guide /Sound Connect App for these and numerous other functions. Many may think that the 1000X The Collection may seem very expensive, for what essentially is, a pair of headphones. However, you pay for what you get and in this case unmatched sound quality and another prime quality product from Sony. So if you are really into your music this is the perfect product for you.

Almost Perfect

Excellent headphones. Sound quality is fantastic and superb build quality. Only one minor niggle is using pu leather on the earcups. Lamb skin leather would be icing on the cake.

Great headphones

Great set of headphones. Noise reduction is brilliant. Sound quality is excellent. Upmix 360 is great for songs which include solo vocalists with orchestral arrangements but not so great for genres like heavy metal.

Sleek and crisp.

Just arrived, unpacked, and switched on, and I was turned on in more ways than one. The sound quality is exceptional and seems to get better the longer I listen switching between Bad Bunny, Jungle - Back on 74. Sony has really refined what a premium pair of headphones should deliver. The audio is detailed, balanced, and immersive, with a level of finesse that stands out even compared to previous generations. The addition of the Upmix feature is a welcome enhancement, and the materials used throughout give the headset a genuinely premium feel. I just love the sensitivity and how light it is to control the volume. Build quality, comfort, and sound all come together to create a product that feels every bit worth the investment. Was in two minds about whether to buy now or wait for the price to drop, but having spent some time with them, I'm glad I didn't. This is a long-term purchase that I expect to enjoy for years to come. I'm very happy with this investment. That said, my trusty XM4s aren't going anywhere just yet—they've earned their place and remain a fantastic pair of headphones in their own right.

sony 1000X the best sony headphones ive used yet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having owed the AM4, XM5 and now the 1000X series i can certainly say that sony has improved on a few things. From the comfort to the style & sound quality. An elegant style with a premium feel being lightweight and comfortable. Excellent active noise cancellation which is a major upgrade in my opinion from the XM4 and 5's. The padding on the ear cups feel better for long periods of listening whilst gaming, listening to music or watching a movies as for me the XM4's and often than not the 5's made my ears sweat with long listening times. I mainly use these to listen to music whilst im in the gym or on the go having no interruptions from the outside world. That being said, the Ambient activation makes hearing the outside noises of the world more clear and more aware of your surroundings. The 30mm drivers are impressive as always from the XM family delivering, clear crisp sounds with great bass. The carry case is a nice improvement also from the old zip carry case to the new magnetic clip like style which i prefer over the older models. The battery life is also impressive with an average listening time of 24 hours to a whopping 32 hours with ANC disabled. My preference is ANC alway's active. I do wish the earcups could fold away like the Xm4's amd 5's and i was surprised they didn't come with a charger cable. That being said they do deliver in an excellent fashion/style along side with crisp sounds and amazing sounds quilty/bass. All you need in an amazing pair of high quality headphones and i feel sony has delivered just that. An amazing, exceptional bit of musical art.

Form & Function..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The prettiest headphones I have seen, sometimes when you see something so nice you know you will love it. Even the carry case is beautifully designed with a tactile feel every time the catch is lifted but the headphones themselves are just so beautifully designed & made. So how do they perform, as per previous Sony headphones you can just turn them on, do a one time bluetooth sync and they work great, lovely rich sound without much setup straight out of the box...a really nice box!!! Once the first couple of uses are done you are missing out of a lot of functionality if you don't download the Sony headphone app "Sound Connect" Take some time with this as you will only then realise the listening experience can be fine tuned to your lifestyle uses. There are two things which I dislike, I don't like the feel of the chrome/silver buttons when they are operated..it's hard to tell if they have actually done something. My only other minus is the call quality, the incoming sound can feel a bit muffled at times, but I am working on the setup to try & improve this.
