About this product
The Cookworks CM2069ST makes filter coffee easy, especially on busy mornings when you need caffeine without the hassle. This programmable machine lets you set the 24-hour timer the night before, so you wake up to freshly brewed coffee ready and waiting. With a generous water tank, it brews up to 12 cups in one go, perfect for households that get through plenty of coffee, and the keep warm function holds your coffee at the ideal temperature until you're ready to pour. The permanent filter means no fuss with paper filters or extra costs, and it's washable for easy maintenance.
You'll find practical features that make brewing simple - a water level gauge to know how much you're adding, a non-drip valve to keep your worktop tidy, and a digital display showing you what's happening at a glance. The thermostatic hotplate distributes heat evenly, and the auto shut-off after 40 minutes gives peace of mind if you dash out. It uses ground coffee only, runs on 1080 watts, and has a descale warning to keep maintenance on track. In the box are the coffee maker, glass jug, and permanent filter, all backed by a 1-year guarantee.

Filter Coffee Makers - people still want them
I've had this a few days now, and apart from the first day or 2 where you can taste the plasttc, it appears to work well. I only purchased as there are few options available for filter coffee.

Replacement coffee machine
I have had a Cookworks coffee machine for at least 15 years and loved it! It finally got damp in the switch panel so had to be replaced. I naturally got another Cookeorks which I have only just started using. It didn’t start off well, the instructions say remove the filter and holder, fill to maximum and start the cycle. Boiling water started filling the jug but also spitting out all around the jug top until a puddle had formed under the unit. The jug was central under the discharge but the nozzle that contains the discharge is in the filter holder, removed as per the instructions! Got the area cleaned up and brewed some coffee which all worked fine. Comments: It is felt the filter and holder could have been left in and sterilised by the boiling water or the instructions say they must be replaced after cleaning. It is a much bigger unit than the old but still fits under the wall unit The old unit was rinsed daily and once a week the filter, holder and jug went in the dishwasher for a thorough clean, you cannot with the new. Otherwise, I am happy with it, coffee was hot, very little sediment and although I haven’t used the timer yet all seems good -time will tell.

Okay for the money
I bought this because there are hardly any options for filter coffee machines. It's okay now the plastic taste is starting to disappear. I wish retailers would realise that lots of people don't need a huge machine that takes up half the kitchen just to make a minute cup of coffee.

Very happy, excellent product
I have had this coffee maker for a few weeks now, and for the price I paid I am very happy. It has a good capacity, keeps the coffee warm and is easy to set the timer function.

Works as expected
Exactly what I expect of a coffee machine at this price point. Makes good coffee, the only negative point is that the design of the llid gives a feeling that it might break if you're not careful.

Easy to use - no fuss
Bought this as a birthday present for my partner although I use it to make his coffee. The coffee is lovely, it makes it quite quickly so the coffee is still hot. It's foolproof to use and easy to clean. Just run water through it without any coffee. It also makes the flat smell like a coffee shop.

Hello alt207,
The supplier has advised the following for the Cookworks CM2069ST Filter Coffee Machine:
The cable length is around 1 metre, excluding the plug length.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
I always use the packs of ground coffee, and they're absolutely fine. Don't think I've ever ground my own! Pick your preferred brand and off you go. But I do use paper filters rather than the supplied filter, but only because I can't be bothered to wash the filter every day!
We use the ready ground packets from the supermarket and they are fine!
Hi Barbara
Yes this uses already grounded packet coffee.
I hope this helps

Hi Nishka,
No, this would not be suitable for heating milk in.
Thanks for using Q&A
I shouldn't think so. The machine boils water to drip through the coffee to fill the jug. The coffee is kept warm by a hotplate under the jug. You can't use the machine without first putting water into it to boil so you cant just put milk in the jug and expect it to heat up. I suppose you could milk into the machine instead of water to boil and drip into the jug but I am sure it would make a mess of your nice new coffee machine and be a nightmare to clean afterwards. You are better off using a pan on the cooker or the microwave.
Wouldn't think so, but never tried. The hot plate at the bottom is designed to keep the coffee warm.
