About this product
The Canon PIXMA G650 is built for printing large volumes of high-quality photos up to A4 without constantly worrying about ink running out. You get six refillable dye-based ink tanks including red and grey for enhanced colour gamut, which means more vibrant and true-to-life photo prints with professional depth. One set of bottles prints around 3,800 4x6 photos, so you're spending less time on refills and more time printing. The non-squeeze bottles make refilling error-free and mess-free, which matters when you just want things to work.
Wireless connectivity lets you print directly from your phone or tablet using the Canon PRINT app or Apple AirPrint, so you're not tethered to your computer. It prints at 3.9ppm for both colour and black text, handles borderless printing beautifully, and the 100-sheet paper capacity is generous enough for most sessions. The flatbed scanner adds copying and scanning functionality when you need it. You can replace the print head and maintenance cartridge yourself, which reduces downtime and keeps costs sensible over time.

Beware of warranty issues
This is my 2nd printer as my first developed a paper feed fault. It was still under warranty but because I had done 10,000 prints it made the warranty null and void, so beware. The printer is easy to use and does great prints.

Great Workhorse for Colour
I had a G550 without a scanner and needed to replace it so bought the G650. I print a lot of photos and this very economical to run. The downside is that it's slow, especially for photos. Photo wise the quality is good.

New colour printer
Easy to set up, print quality seems clear and accurate colour. WiFi connected quickly. The initial inks provided seemed large so should need a refill for some time.

Amazing little printer
Absolutely love it. Connects to my iPad via WiFi connection. Using the canon print app it prints beautifully and I can print right up to the edge of the paper with no border. Very happy with my purchase. It does everything I needed it to do.

Canon G650 *Amazing Printer*
I purchased this printer to replace my old Brother printer as I wanted to return to a dedicated photo printer with ink tanks rather than cartridges, especially as I have a 300 photo project to create. I use the printer with dedicated Canon photo paper, SG-201 and LU-101 which produce amazing results and professional quality prints. The colours are vibrant, it handles normal day to day document printing very well. I thought I would miss the auto duplex printing and tray feed on the Brother but it is so simple to use, manual duplex just requires taking the stack out, turning them and it carries on printing after pressing okay on the reverse side. I found the rear tray feed better as well as there is no more pulling trays out. The Brother was an A3 all in one so the Canon has a much smaller footprint which has freed up desk space. I purchased the printer for £279.99, with £40 in the Argos sale, £40 cashback from Canon and it came with a full set of six 60ml inks, unlike the cartridges these days that as set up only. Taking into account the Argos sale, cashback and inks worth around £80 I got an excellent deal. It's super easy to connect via Wi-Fi and cable, the two print heads pop straight in so took me about 15 to 20 minutes to be up and running. I highly recommend installing the Canon Easy Layout and Easy Photo Print Editors that are free to download and make setting out multiple photos on A4 in different sizes super easy. I would definitely give the Canon G650 a 5* rating. It's easy to refill the tanks and has an excellent printer and scanner resolution.

Think again
This is a very good Canon printer when it comes to the Mega Tank inks, document and picture quality, however the display is so small with no LED lighting and is absolutely useless, so it can be very difficult to get the correct settings right, you do not find this out until you purchase the product!!!

Could be the perfect printer
Great text and photo quality, easy setup and long lasting ink but the absence of duplex double sided printing is a shame and the inability to not even be able to manually duplex print from the mobile app is inexcusable when most other manufacturers offer this function in their apps. Note you can manually duplex print from a computer. The tiny display is very poor but functional and rear paper loading is a pain as you have to move the printer to load so it needs more desk space. My old MG7150 printer was far superior except in the ink capacity.

Excellent product and service
I purchased a Canon G650 Printer scanner, an excellent product and first class service from the staff at Argos Hempstead. The print quality and printing options are all excellent, I print many photographs and this printer produces excellent quality photographs. Whilst I use predominantly hard connection to my PC it also functions well using the wireless blue connection to a cell phone. More cost effective refillable tanks than purchasing ink cartridges.

Great photo prints
Photo prints are brilliant and it’s fast and efficient. Just make sure you download the manual and learn how to use the scanner and to just copy. Disappointed with display which states it is a LCD but I cannot get it to light up at all so an issue. Will keep trying. It is also quite plasticky, bit cheap looking compared to my old epson.

Our supplier has advised that the Canon PIXMA G650 Wireless Inkjet Photo Printer is a photo printer but can print documents but is aimed towards someone who wants to print a lot of photos at a very high quality with a great range of colour. If the software has a print button then it will work.
