Poor Purchase
This was a poor purchase, not very good quality. The lid is difficult to remove, as its not a flip top. When pouring the water goes allover the place.

Efficient kettle
Good kettle, boils fast. The lid lifts out completely to fill rather than a hinge, which personally I find slightly inconvenient. The shiny exterior is also not very practical in a hard water area but that's as advertised and I bought this when I needed a new kettle quickly.

High quality kettle!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a really high quality kettle, finished on a silver colour. It is easy to hold and use. The cord length is good. Not too long so it feels safe to use. I believe that this kettle may be of one of the higher end type of products but it shows in how well and quickly it boils water and the look and feel of it too. I would definitely recommend this kettle to others.

Having checked the manual for the Russell Hobbs Stainless Steel Adventure Kettle 23911 it does advise to clean in the following way:
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Unplug the stand, and let the kettle cool before cleaning
2. Wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth.
3. Remove the lid.
4. Slide the filter up and out of the guides.
5. Rinse the filter under a running tap while brushing with a soft brush.
6. Slide the filter down, into the guides.
7. Refit the lid.
Descale regularly, (at least monthly).Descale the appliance with a proprietary descaler. Follow the instructions on the package of descaler.
Therefore we would not recommend using a lemon.
