Works well
I bought this a few months ago to replace an older set up and it works well. Easy to mount on a fence and 2 lines really help. The support rod also helps with sheets. Also available at Argos.

Saved the day
It’s not just the big brand goods that keep me coming back something as simple as a washing line prop, but good old Argos had it on the shelf in my local Sainsbury’s, 15 minutes after mine failed I had a new one saving the wash I had just done, simple BUT Essential & a great price !

Hello Anne,
The supplier has advised the following for the Argos Home Outdoor Extending Line Prop:
“ The outer tube is rush proof as it's galvanized. ”
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hi Westlake 117
Argos Home Outdoor Extending Line Prop:
The prop should be placed just before the true vertical. Gravity and the weight of the clothes will hold the prop.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Elsie,
The supplier has advised the following for the Outdoor Extending Line Prop:
"This is a line prop and is not designed to work in concrete."
However, they do suggest that you may wish to check out the Dri 30m Washing Line & Post, cat no: 850/1415, as that can be set into concrete. For more info, please check out this link:

Hi Chanz,
The Better Home Outdoor Extending Line Prop does not inlcude a spike to insert it in to the ground. Most props are not intended to insert into the ground but to hold the washing line high when the line is in use.
Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
Hi,
After looking into this for you I can see that the size of this pole before extension is 1.4m
Thank you for using Argos Q&A
Mine isn't sturdy and keeps collapsing.
Hi,
The feedback from customers suggest that this item is strong enough for the job, and it has a 12 month guarantee which should give enough time for you to test it.
Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
So far no problems - if weight is an issue would use 2 per line anyway. But construction seems solid and better build quality than last set we had which lasted years
Hi,
This Outdoor Extending Washing Line Prop is made of plastic.
I hope this helps!
The top part of the pole is put up to the height required then you tighten the knob at the top of the green part. This tightens against a nut inside the plastic and hold the top half up.
Danger is over tightening will split the plastic mechanism!
