Bought to replace another set of salter scales which had lasted just under 15 years, new set are as good, clear viewing of amounts being weighed, easy to use, just what I was looking for.

Pretty good scale, if quite small.
Works well, but its relatively small size means that a large bowl would overhang the display. I found the delineated circle a little confusing. Do you have to place your bowl only inside this circle? From using this scale it seems that it doesn't matter if the bowl strays outside the circle. Overall, I would recommend it. I store it inside its box - I've labelled the packing supports with 'TOP' on one side as they have to be the right way up to fit.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Salter Electronic Kitchen Scale with Steel Platform- Silver: The scales will detect as low as 1g. the stainless steel circle is purely cosmetic. Items can be placed anywhere on the scale for weighing, the most accurate being the centre of the platform.

The first one was included….but they are easy to get hold of…just look for the no on the battery and any shop that sells batteries will have them.
Yes, but have just had to replace it after 6 months. This was easy to do.
Yes, this scale will display negative numbers. Negative values will display when the scales are zeroed with a mass in place, and some or all of that mass is subsequently removed.
