Salter Aquaweigh Mechanical Baking Scale Great scales for the price. Took a few moments to get the hang of how the sliding pointer works. Good size bowl and can be used for liquid ms too as tgere is a handy spout at end of bowl to pour.

Great savings
I bought theSalter mechanical scales as a trial and have been surprised by the accuracy and ease of use. My previous use of electronic scales became too expensive as two batteries were half the price of the new scales.ALSO the mechanical scales do not switch off half way through a process.

Unfortunately I had to return these scales. The dial does not have 1g readings so unable to get an accurate weight.

A bit disappointed
My previous mechanical scale gave more than 50 years service, and was reliably accurate right up to its recent sudden failure. This new one is nice and fresh, easy to operate, but unfortunately setting the pointer to zero gives false low readings. I know this through trying 100g bars of chocolate on it. I now have to set it at about 25g empty to get a figure close to the truth. I would have expected better from Salter.

To adjust the pointer to zero; slowly slide the tab on the front or side of the scale
to move the dial to zero.
