This wall-mountable, collapsible weatherproof enclosure with a 4 socket, 8 meter extension lead by Masterplug is perfect for your outdoor electrical needs. Its collapsible structure and durable sides provide a convenient solution when storing. The adjustable depth ensures compatibility with various devices, including in-line transformer plugs, timers and more. IP54 rating and quad layers seal at cable entry and exit points, it seals watertight. Tool-free cable clamps, a self-locking lid, and a Velcro strip to secure the extension lead.

Fantastic size and quality
Tbf I've not used it yet but I'm sure it will do the job it's meant to. Bought for outside Christmas lights and trees reindeer etc but managed to make do with what I had. But this one is bigger and I'm sure better than the one I had.

Top quality weatherproof boxes with extension
I have used varied outdoor boxes for my charity Christmas light displays over the years, but we moved a year ago and I sold all my lights etc. as we are now in a bungalow, however in our cul-de-sac there are several of the properties with lights up, so I decided to do a small one too, for my own and the neighbours pleasure. I bought two of the Masterplug boxes, and I have to say they are superb, easily the easiest to use that I have had and comes with the extension socket and once finished with, collapses down for storage, perfect!

As previously advised, the cable itself, whilst undamaged, is waterproof.
The important aspect is that the socket strip and plug should not be exposed to water (which for the trailing sockets is the purpose of the weatherproof box).
As for what socket to plug it into, as long as you don't overload the socket or the mains ring it's wired into you should be alright.
