Best opener ever
Always had a normal manual can opener but bought this as my mum struggles with cans these days. It's absolutely brilliant, easy to insert the batteries, easy to get onto the van, opens cans really well and doesn't leave any ridged edges,. Wish I had bought one years ago!!

Disappointed
Disappointed with this can opener. It doesn't work as it should. With tins (fray bentos pies) the opener will not work. It does not stop when can opened and button does not stop it.

Do not buy
I bought this thinking it would be the answer to my prayers, but I have gone back to my hand operated model. The grip wheel slips, the cutting wheel des not always cut completely through the steel can, and the partially severed lid has to be bent off which is dangerous as the can edge below is sharp.

Hi Norm
The 'complete your purchase with' is a suggestion for the Culinare One Touch Can Opener rather than a necessity, however in this case it would be more appropriate to have AA batteries rather than AAA.as these are what is used to operate the can opener.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello there,
The Culinare One Touch Can Opener is model number C50600A.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q & A.
The answer given does not cover the question which I asked. The tins I have tried to open are not round.- A corned beef tin. I have not tried this model The openers I have used previously did open them but the last one I had would not go all round. Perhaps a simpler question is - will the opener open tins other than round ones.
i there,
The Culinare One Touch Can Opener, would not be able to open a can with a ring pull. However this would work if the can was turned the other way.
Hope this helps

Hello SteveP,
This can opener is manufactured in China.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for using Q&A.
No it wont
Hi there,
Yes, it will.
Thanks for using Q&A
Yes, it certainly does!
Once you understand how to grip the edge onto the tin properly.
Always read the introduction carefully and you will find that this tin opener is an excellent product.
I have limited use of both hands and I could NOT do without it.
Perhaps if you turn the can upside down it would work ?
Hi there,
No, this would not be able to open a can with a ring pull.
Thanks for using Argos Q&A
I have never had to try this but I would consider that the ring-pull and its fixing point would interfere with the movement of the device.
Just tried it on a small tin.
No, it trips up on the ring pull.
I've found a wooden spoon handle inserted into the ring pull acts as a good lever for frail hands.
Hello there,
Yes, the Culinare One Touch Can Opener will open most cans in one pass all the way around.
Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
Yes, my wife has trouble placing it centre sometimes.
It's a nice handy opener, clean cut.
Haven't replaced the batteries in it yet.
Would recommend.
Yes it does.
The instructions say it needs a button press to stop, then it goes back a bit before stopping.
Never had a problem with it taking a top off in just one go.
Hello Chris
this can be operated with just one hand
