The Argos Home Freddie Storage Cabin Bed works smart in smaller bedrooms where space matters. It's a single cabin bed built with storage tucked right into the base, a cupboard, shelf and open cubby that keep books, toys and games organised and out of sight. The raised bed frame lifts the sleeping area off the floor, while the integrated storage below makes the most of floor space you'd otherwise lose. It's suitable for children aged 4 and over, with a sturdy frame that supports up to 100kg.
The anthracite finish with wood effect detailing fits with most bedroom colours and styles. The storage sections are built into the base, so everything stays within easy reach at bedtime. It must be securely fixed to the wall to prevent overturning, as it sits over 60cm high. Arrives flat-packed with clear instructions, assembly needs two people. Part of the Freddie collection, so you can add matching pieces if needed. Mattress sold separately. Comes with a manufacturer's 1 year guarantee.

Poor quality, terrible design, awful to build!
Got this for my young son as it looked great in the pictures and he loved the look of it. Got it on an offer price, picked it up (despite it being offered with free delivery which wouldn't apply at checkout) and started to build. 6 hours later, I beyond regretted my choice! Bed is poorly designed and incredibly hard to put together. Instructions aren't overly helpful, and even with 2 of us it took 6 hours to finish. There were marks all over the bed, poor finish on the edges and sides, and the colouring coming off of edges. The wood started splitting as you put the screws in and none of the screws would secure tightly. The build process makes no sense. Trying to move the bed around as parts went in was beyond challenging and let to further damage. Once put together it feels solid enough, but if it was more than a small child on it I would feel very worried. Parts don't align, the doors don't shut properly and there is a gap in both sides of the bed where the pieces don't meet. Spend the extra, get an IKEA bed and don't bother to even add this to your shortlist!

Some good bits, some bad bits
The bed is ok. In hindsight I wish I had gone for a bed with headboard or something to stop things from falling behind the bed. The cabin design makes it very hard to move to retrieve anything fallen down. The first night the smell of the bed and/or mattress was awful, like paint chemicals. Definitely leave to air out if you can. The bed is ok, roomy storage and works well as a kids bed. Assembly took a bit longer than I thought.

Brought this item had to go straight back as there was crack wood and it didnt seem to tighten at the sides but i was thankful that it was delivered quick and argos colllected very quick was the next day and refund was in 3days too customer services was amazing thank you i just loved the look of this bed and would of been perfect for my son

This item is self‑assembly so the doors come with pre‑drilled holes for the supplied handles. This means any replacement handles will need to match the existing hole spacing.
The current handles are Plastic Round Wide Arch Handles – Silver (130mm x 9mm).
As long as the new handles fit those same measurements—particularly the distance between the screw holes—they can be swapped without issue.

“ The underneath left, middle & right are same which spacing in 2 sections, the upper section is 630mm W x 440mm D x 160mm H & the lower section is 630mm W x 160mm x 940mm D. ”
