Johnstone's Brilliant White Quick Dry Gloss is a high opacity paint for interior wood and metal surfaces, including skirting boards, doors, and staircases. Medium odour, water based formulation. Non-yellowing. Dry in 1-2 hours. Covers approx. 25m2 (per tin). For best results, prime surfaces with Johnstone's Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

Johnstone’s White Gloss
We selected this brand of gloss paint. It was convenient to order with Argos, ordering was easy as was the pick up. Have to say this brand of gloss paint seems to be fairly thin in fact having used the paint, two coats of gloss were required to give a good coverage. In fact thinking now about a third! As while using it and when going back and forth with the brush, .some of the paint seemed to be removed from the surface? There’s virtually no odour. The gloss washes out of the brush very easily. Reasonable price for 2.5litres. Not sure we would use this brand of paint again but unless you try you don’t know. I wouldn’t say it’s high gloss …. In fact I had to check the tin to see if inadvertently we had purchased a satin finish Overall verydisappointing.

absolutely brilliant (white)
I bought this to paint a wood kitchen ceiling. This paint had the qualities that were needed, I.e. non drip and quick drying so that the kitchen could be put back to use as quickly as possible. The job was completed quickly and I was surprised at how the old paint had yellowed, ut now brilliant white!!

I have used this paint before and like how white it stays.It goes on easy with a brush or roller and dries super quick. It also washes out of equipment with water so no smelly white spirits. I purchased from Argos as it was cheaper than most other suppliers and was convenient to pick up

Fantastic gloss paint
Bought this good sized tin of brilliant white paint for freshening up home the gloss itself goes on very easily dries quickly and hopefully does not yellow but have found Johnstone's gloss to be very good it cover wood and metal very easily and application is quite thick

The supplier has advised for the Johnstone's Wood & Metal Gloss Paint - Brilliant White 2.5L: Any product labelled as gloss must achieve a sheen level of at least 90%.
In this case a satin finish would be more satisfactory. Satin finishes usually are within the region of 35% - 45% depending on the product.

This product can't be sprayed, as the Wood & Metal paint contains a high level of solvent.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Johnstone's Quick Dry Gloss Paint 2.5L: In order to paint over previously solvent coatings , you would have to following these steps:
Surface should be clean and abraded with fine sand paper , once dust free the use of a Quick drying primer /undercoat should be used .
once fully dry then the quick dry Gloss can be used . The Quick dry gloss cannot no go directly on to old solvent base paint with this preparations
