It does the job!
This is the second Salter Electronic Scale I have bought, the first lasting for many years. Exactly the same as my original model so I have hopes of this lasting as long as the first.

Looks nice. It’s neat, easy to read but like others, it will not tare to 0 and because of that, I don’t trust the measurements. I’m on number two and going to have to get something else. Disappointing given there’s lots of reviews having the same issue!

To switch off the scale manually, press [ON/OFF/ZERO] for 2-3 seconds.
Auto switch off will occur if the display shows '0' for 1 minute or shows the same weight reading for 3 minutes.

You can certainly weigh them. I have weight letters etc and the postage I used was correct.

The main part of the item being weighed should be on the steel platform area. As long as no part of the item being weighed is touching areas outside of the platform, then it should be OK and accurate.

It can overhang the steel platform. For example, I sometimes weigh food out on a baking tray which overhangs the sides and it seems to be pretty accurate. You can also place a saucepan, bowl or plate on the steel area and then turn the scales on (or reset them if they are already on).
