Useful tool for portable use. Get a spare batteryh
I was undecided about adding a cordless Dremel to my existing (Dremel 4250) model but I'm glad I did. One piece of advice: get a spare battery for it. The supplied battery only lasts about 45 mins to 1 hr. I got mine (new) on Ebay. The Dremel website shows a battery available and the claim it fits this Dremel 8240 but it does NOT fit!...😡. So make sure you get the same battery as the supplied one. The tools you get with this are basic but most Dremel fans will have a separate set of tools. The 'quick change' multi chuck is a worthy addition too and makes swapping tools a LOT easier. Overall I'm glad I got this and it was a smooth and easy transaction from Argos and the price was good too.

A bit bulkier than I thought it would be. Also sometimes have to slide button back up on second attempt to turn on. As doesn't always come on first attempt.

the dremel i never got
i bought or tried to buy a dremel 8240 rotary tool . When i went to pick it up in store the lady on the counter gave me a different model so wasted my travel expenses and time she could not explain how the mix up had happened so i got my money back

They say - the Dremel 8220 is designed to be held in a number of ways that is comfortable for you depending on the application;
Two handed
Pencil grip – using the round EZ Twist nose cap to hold like a large pen.
The black coloured Softgrip rubber will help guide your hand placement. There are additional attachments, such as the Dremel Flexible Shaft and Dremel Detailers Grip that can be purchased separately that will help you hold the tool more comfortably for extended periods when working on detailed applications.

Hello Brian,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised: The Dremel 8220 is not supplied with a chuck, it is supplied with a Collet and Nut for securing accessories. The collet is compatible with accessories that have a shank diameter of 3.2mm only.
To use accessories with a different shank diameter another compatible collet or a Multi-Chuck would need to be purchased separately.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised: Unfortunately the battery life is heavily dependent on the application you are performing, the speed you’re running the tool at and is also effect by the amount of pressure you place on the tool. For example, if you want to cut stainless bolts you need the highest speed which will use the battery charge a lot more quickly than if you are polishing metal on a moderate speed.
