Although I have just installed this security camera, it is working very well. Easy to install and the picture quality is excellent. It detects and tracks well, coverage is good and connecting to the WIFI Easy. Overall I am very impressed.

We generally do not recommend using extension cables to power cameras, and we suggest you install them according to the installation instructions, as this may affect their performance. The following points should be noted:
1. The material and length of the extension cable may cause the camera's voltage to drop below the required level, leading to abnormal camera behavior, such as automatic restarts or jamming during panning and tilting.
2. Using extension cables outdoors also increases the risk of lightning strike damage, which may void your product warranty.
3. If you must use an extension cable, please refer to the relevant specifications and purchase from https://static.tp-link.com/upload/product-ove... Consider using 22 AWG or thicker cable to minimize voltage drop and ensure the camera receives sufficient power. Also, ensure the extension cable has good waterproof and lightning protection properties.

Regarding video storage, you can choose to purchase an SD card yourself or subscribe to the Tapo Care cloud service to store the camera's detection videos.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Tapo TC43 3K Outdoor Pan/Tilt Smart Security Wi-Fi Camera.
For the TC43 specifically, the power adapter's plug and cable are connected together and cannot be removed.
The camera is designed to be powered via a power adapter, and we would recommend using the original power adapter and power cord that come with the package rather than modifying the power supply setup.

To turn on the camera alarm manually, go to the Tapo app Home page > tap the camera card to enter the Live View page > tap the Alarm button to activate it.
