Great picture quality, not so great sound quality
Bought this for my father, whose tv had died. Read a lot of reviews on several televisions on the Argos website, and eventually went with this Toshiba. Tv looks good, set-up was straightforward, picture quality is great. If the sound quality was as good as the picture, I would have given it 5 stars. But it isn't. It's quite tinny. To be fair, the sound is clear, it's easier to hear what people are saying than it was on his old tv, but there is no depth to the sound. No amount of tweaking the settings improves it. It's like going from a music system with speakers to a tiny battery operated pocket radio - the difference is stark. He said he would get used to it, but a few days later he got a sound bar which has improved the sound quality immensely. Going by the reviews that I read, this is an issue with a lot of televisions, not just this brand. I suppose if you already have a sound bar and you need to replace your tv, you could do a lot worse.
