I love this as I have multiple controllers and one's always dying on me. I love that I don't haven't controllers lying around and they can charge while I'm not using them. It's a little fiddly and they fall off at times but it's perfect

Great just what needed!
I purchased a second hand PS5 which was in perfect condition however the controller for some reason wouldn’t charge via the cable provided. Checked everything but no good, so purchases this item which worked perfectly. No complaints. Only gripe is it can’t be plugged into the ps5 and has to be in mains via a plug

Sony PS5 controller charger
Bought from Argos to charge our PS5 controllers, rather than via usb cable as we had been doing. Works a treat and looks official (because it is) sat next to the PS5. NOTE: This is not powered from the PS5 as I originally thought, rather it has its own 3 pin plug.

After checking with the supplier, I can confirm that this PlayStation 5 DualSense Charging Station will stop charging if you have plug the station into your PS5 to charge, once you turn off your PS5 they will stop charging. This Station can be charged via mains power and once the controllers are fully charged the station will stop charging to help preserve the life of the batteries in your controller.

Hi! There are no batteries needed. The charging unit is mains powered and the batteries in the controller are rechargeable. Just slot the controller into the charger and batteries are recharged.

I think it's fine to leave the controllers on the Sony PlayStation charging station (I can't speak for other charging stations). From my personal experience, the controllers automatically stop charging when fully charged because the amber lights go off.
My two controllers are permanently on the charging stations when I'm not playing and I've had them for over a year. No damage to the controllers or charging station so far. Also, the battery life on the controllers hasn't been affected - I still get the same playtime between recharges.

When the controller is fully charged, the charging indicator on the controller stops and the dock stops putting power through.

When the controllers have finished charging the charging light goes out so I don't think it would be a problem to leave the charger plugged into the mains all the time. I've being doing that for the last year and haven't noticed any problems.
