Handy useful remote
Works well with ps5 and saves using the controller. Useful shortcut buttons work well. Batteries seem to be lasting well, though I haven't had it long. Only thing I've found is that it's a strange shape and like to fall off the edge of chairs so easily. Spends more time on the floor!

poor battery life not rechargeable
Bought this and it works very well as a controller for media on your TV. Until the battery runs out which was only 6 days for me. For some reason in 2025 it takes AA batteries. So it will cost me £12 a month to run this thing.

Perfectly simplistic!
Does exactly what you want. Very simplistic design but has all the buttons you need and no more. Battery life is questionable but I’m not sure if that was the infrared connection to the TV or batteries dying. Regardless I will use rechargeable batteries so it’s not bad anyway.

This is the cheapest you will find this remote, it's £30/£40 on amazon and even more elsewhere, if you use ya ps5 for YouTube, Netflix or any media this is a game changer not having to use the controller that turns off and big and a faff,. PS took me a while to link as stupid me didn't realise the ps symbol is actually a button!

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Sony PS5 Media Remote Control: You'll need to pair your media remote to your PS5 console before you can use it:
Go to Settings > Accessories > Media Remote > Set Up Media Remote, and follow the on-screen pairing instructions.
If the automatic pairing doesn’t work, select Set Up Manually and follow on-screen instructions.
Indeed, you can adjust the volume and power settings of compatible TVs with the built-in IR transmitter1.

Providing the soundbar is connected to the monitor via ARC or the PS5 is able to control the monitor on/off status then you will be able to use the Sony PS5 Media Remote Control with it.

The Sony PS5 Media Remote Control will connect to a TV if the code of the TV is available for the remote. As long as the PS5 can connect to the TV and control it's on and off state via CEC or other HDMI controller then you will be able to use this remote.

It works with certain TVs definitely Sony ones up to 5 years old. Can’t be for sure though.
You can control certain functions like volume.
There's a chance your TV remote can control the PS5.
I've had 3 of these remotes and all had to be returned. Looking online it's a common complaint too.
The remote just randomly de-syncronises from the console and stops working.
