Its just short of 1 plate to make it a full C to C octave. Its range is D to C, so you can play some songs on it. We can play Old MacDonald had a Farm, and the In The Night Garden theme song!

There are 7 tones only on this toy. If the tune is relatively simple with a similar range of tones, it would play OK on it. However, this is more a toy than a professional musical instrument and the tunes it could play would reflect this.
