It’s a stainless steel look
I think the name is a bit misleading really, it's not illuminated like an illuminated kettle for instance - just the Cancel button lights up blue while the toaster is in use, and buttons for Reheat, Frozen etc light up when they're selected.

The Controls.
Very little... I'm not sure why they've called it that to be honest, to me it seems to imply more light up parts than there actually are. The cancel button lights up blue while the toaster is on and the other buttons light up blue when selected, that's it. The one I got also looks different to the picture, no chrome stripe but a chrome lever instead - old stock maybe? Have to say it does toast well though, very evenly.
