Disappointing display
I had to replace my old salter scales so went with this model im slightly disappointed with the display as it doesn't light up and hard to read

Unsatisfied.
These scales do not just weigh, they also tell time with a clock which is totally unnecessary . This clock does not switch off so is constantly draining battery. To access battery compartment is a nightmare and a special tool should be supplied. No I would not buy these again.

Good value with big dish but ...
Overall good product with good size bowl. Pounds and grams are the common measurements used and all the others available not really needed. Only feature i don't like is that you can't switch the power off. The time is always displayed. This will use the battery power unnecessarily.

Excellent
I had these scales before ,they seem to of improved them ,the old one ,the battery didn't last long ,this new set scales has two batteries so im hoping it will last longer

Okay, does the job
I'm happy with the way it works and the ease of using it. One problem - it is supposed to turn off automatically, it does not. In order to turn it off we have to remove the batteries.

Salter Electronic Bowl Scale - Silver
Unfortunately since buying these scales a few weeks ago, I have not been able to use it as planned. I wanted to use them to weigh my food daily as part of my weight loss journey however I can't get the screw out so I can put a battery in! No screw driver can undo it because the manufacturer has screwed it down too tight, solid, it just will not budge! I even took it to B&Q and still couldn't find the right screw driver to get it out, and staff assisted me! This is so.... annoying and frustrating!

What is a ball python anyway? Do they generally weigh less than 5kg? Is it a snake?

Hi Nikki
This is plastic.
I hope this helps :)
Thanks for using Argos Q&A
The bowl is plastic.
It has a plastic bowl and is light weight even with cooking ingredients in side
yet the instruction leaflet says can be switched off! the battery compartment also needs a tiny Phillips screwdriver which i have tried using several times to open the battery compartment with a tiny Phillips screwdriver, these scales are not suitable for someone who has a disabled hand for that reason! I am taken them today after speaking to someone on the phone which took ages to get someone to answer customer services phoneline!
Hiya Agata,
You cannot turn the scales off, the display remains permanently on, as it is designed to be used as a clock when not in use.
Thanks for using Argos Q&A!
You cant! It goes through batteries so quickly. The best thing is to remove the battery if you are not using them. If I had known this before I wouldn't have bought them!
