About this product
Need to drill into masonry or drive screws into various materials? This Black Decker cordless hammer drill handles wood, metal and masonry with ease. Powered by an 18V battery included in the kit, its all-metal motor and gearbox deliver 21,000 BPM for hammer drilling tough masonry. Variable speed from 0 to 1400 RPM ensures precise drilling and screwdriving. The 10 torque settings adjust power for different materials. A temperature overload function shuts the unit down if it overheats. The kit includes a 10-piece drill parts set so you can start your project immediately.
The keyless chuck makes part changes quick and simple without extra tools needed. You'll switch between forward and reverse using the function control for versatile use. The soft grip handle keeps things comfortable during extended jobs. It's got drilling capacity of 25mm in wood, 10mm in steel and 10mm in masonry. The two gear system adapts to screwdriving, drilling and hammer drilling applications. A hardwearing kit box stores and transports the tool safely. The 1.5Ah battery charges fully in up to 3 hours with the included charger.

Value for money.

Extremely happy with my new Black and Decker drill. Good price at Argos too.

Power loss
I have fully charged it and it doesn't like masonry drilling losing power after three 6mm holes.

Good but only one battery
Very happy with it although would have preferred it cam with two batteries
mikey66, 55 - 64
Well built but battery life not long.
The spec says a maximum of four hours of battery use, but using it for polishing, it lasted just 40 minutes. Otherwise, for the cost, it's OK. It seems well built and robust. Maybe consider spare backup batteries.

Hello Ches
Black + Decker 18V Cordless Hammer Drill with Battery
The Black + Decker 18V Cordless Hammer Drill with Battery from Argos has a brushed motor.
Black + Decker offers both brushed and brushless drills, but the standard 18V Cordless Hammer Drill models sold with a battery at Argos (such as catalogue numbers 8974080 and 8260385) use brushed motors. Brushless motor versions are typically sold as bare tools (without a battery) or in specific, higher-end kits under a different model number.
