Great looking machine
Great little machine. Very light and easy to assemble and operate. I was worried after using a steamer for years that it may leave the floor too wet but it dries beautifully. The Dyson floor cleaner works well with it too. Very pleased with my purchase. I bit fiddly to clean and reassemble after using it but once you're used to it, worth it.

Love it
I just love my PencilWash. At the age of 81 I started to find it difficult when washing my kitchen, hallway and toilet floors. I cannot tolerate dirty floors so when I saw Dyson had brought out machine to wash my floor I was delighted. It doesn't leave the floor wet through drys quickly and is efficient at cleaning my floors. Especially my hall flooring, it has small ridges that ive struggled to get clean over the years my new PensilWash is bringing it up like again.

Feather-light efficiency.
What a terrific piece of domestic cleaning equipment this is! A perfect partner for my trusty Dyson vacuum cleaner. My only criticism is that it does not come with an instruction booklet. Information is only available on line. Frustrating and extremely annoying!

Impressive cleaning
I bought this a few weeks ago and have been really impressed by its effectiveness at picking up dirt and detritus from what I thought were clean floors! The cleaning is relatively simple a bit fiddly in places but doable quite quickly. Getting the unit out of the drip tray currently involves bending down which I can just about manage but would be better if you could use your foot alone to hold it steady- I’m sure that will become easier over time. Overall very happy with the product.

Better than previous cleaner
I bought this to replace a floor washer from a different company. I never got on with it, so I had great expectations of the Dyson Pencilwash. The only downside I have found is if you are cleaning a large area, remember to empty the wastewater tank, otherwise it spills it onto your clean floor! On the whole, very good.

Unfortunately I don’t rate the pencil wash it’s not what I expected as my other Dyson products which I have had for years always does what it says , Pencil wash didn’t

SO disappointed
I love Dyson products and when I realised they did a mop I was over the moon, as we have really had problems with replacing mop heads and the supermarket products are unreliable with replacements, often requiring buying a whole new system. This Dyson product is SO disappointing. You can't prop it for a moment against a counter as it falls over, and the handle is full of electronics so I am terrified I'm going to break it. I have to be so careful stopping for a moment, and making sure it is safe. It raises my anxiety rather than being an enjoyable experience. The pencil mop does not remove semi fixed spots of dirt, so I have to use my fingernails as I mop to get the dirt mobile enough to be mopped up. As I mop the pencil mop leaves dirty streaks, so I have to use my socked foot to mop that up as I go along! The water container does not last beyond the kitchen floor and the hall, before needing refilling for the scullery and the toilet. Emptying it is an unbelievably dirty business, I have to get the (admittedly wonderfully gathered) dirt out with my hands as there is no other way of removing it, which is so unpleasant. I also have to get my hands really dirty to clean the mop and it is impossible to reach the nooks and crannies. I am very shocked. I have looked at the videos, and they make it look such an easy and clean process. I must be doing something wrong, but the video rushes through too quickly to be sure where my error is. Unless, there is no error. I persuaded my husband this was a perfect, guaranteed purchase, and have not had the courage to tell him how awful it is

A Great Innovation
Overall I am very pleased I purchased the PencilWash, but I do have just one reservation which hopefully can be resolved - hence the 4 stars instead of 5. It's great to use, quiet, light, easy to manoeuvre and mostly cleans my tiled and laminate floors effectively without the hassle of a mop and bucket! The issue is that after using for a short period, it will occasionally release streaks of dirty water. This is disappointing as otherwise I am delighted with the machine. I have raised this query and discussed with Dyson support, so I am monitoring the problem to see if further action is needed. Cleaning the machine after use is fairly straightforward when familiar with the steps, however the purchase of a spare roller would be a definite advantage as it does take some time to dry properly and so not always user ready for a quick wipe over.
