Elgato 4K S Game Capture

Fantastic

What a great bit of kit. Really easy to setup. Not too big so doesn't take up much workspace. The quality of the recording is as imagined, excellent. I have tried it on a couple of different consoles and I have not ran in to any issues whatsoever.

Great, easy to use

Great compact design for small work space fits nicely under your monitor, with quality performance, i didn't notice any video lag while using. Comes with 2 cables that are 59 inch long with a braided sheath definitely no expense spaired with them. You need to have a USB C PORT on your computer, plug hdmi`s into your console and monitor, usb c into your computer download the program and away you go, the recording saves as a mp4 file. It's small enough to unplug and take with you on trips away, fits in the palm of my hand. Would definitely recommend the elgato 4ks console.

Game changer absolutely brilliant

I reciently got this Elgato 4K S capture card and honestly, I’m really impressed with both the quality and how easy it is to use. First off the packaging feels premium and well thought out. Everything is neatly presented and you get all the cables you need straight out of the box, which is a huge plus. The device itself is compact, lightweight, and has a really sleek, modern design that looks great alongside my setup see the pic with remote for comparison. Setting it up was incredibly straightforward. I’m not overly technical but within minutes I had it connected and working perfectly with my pc. It works seamlessly with PlayStation, Xbox and even Switch so it’s very versatile if you use multiple systems. The performance is amazing and the 4K capture quality is crisp and clear and the fps recording makes gameplay look smooth and professional. I also love the passthrough feature and being able to play in high quality while recording without any noticeable lag is a game changer. There’s no delay on screen which is something I was worried about. Another thing I appreciate is how reliable it is. I’ve used it for longer gaming sessions and it doesn’t overheat or drop quality. It just works consistently which is exactly what you want when you’re recording or streaming. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking to start recording gameplay or upgrade their current setup. Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced gamer this capture card makes the whole process simple while delivering excellent results. It’s a solid investment and well worth the money. I really recommend it

Great Add On

My son absolutely loves this and is over the moon. He found it easy to use once he had a while to use it. He has a ps5 and it works perfectly. Easy to transfer things and great storage on it. Lots of ways to connect it and instructions clear. Would highly recommend it.

The best Game capture device I have Used

I have tried to create a review based on how to use the device and the results. All the technical detail is in the Argos comprehensive description, so there is little point in repeating them. The device is well packaged and you can use it straight out of the box, However I found that visiting the manufacturers website and downloading their free Elgato Studio software made getting started simpler. The device also asks you to update it’s internal software. One of the initial difficulties is that the manufacture (Like so many nowadays) thinks everyone has the eyesight of an Eagle! The instruction manual? Is tiny, added to this there are no actual setup instructions! In the end I found full easy to follow setup videos on line. Much of the setup is common sense anyway. The device is supplied with a USB C Cable and a high speed HDMI cable ( If your computer only has USB A connections you can buy a Cable or adaptor fairly cheaply just make sure it’s a Data cable not just a charging cable. Set up is a fairly simple process. Plug the HDMI Cable into HDMI OUT then into the TV, plug the console HDMI Cable into HDMI IN and the USB C cable into the device and your computer. Start the console and your TV Screen/monitor will appear on the computer Screen, using your chosen recording software. (I just found the Elgato software easier) The Videos are recorded onto your computer in MP4 format. Sound quality is as excellent as is Video Overall this is probably the best Game capture device I have Used. I tested it on both my Sony PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Both give excellent High quality results. Attached are a selection of screen shots from Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong Bonanza, Carnival Games. It is quite compact, feels like a good quality item, the supplied cables are not only High speed but are of a good length and are braided. Overall highly recommended

Perfect Streaming addition

I bought this to upgrade my streaming setup and add additional quality and resolution. It does that with a fantastic output @ a 4K resolution in 1440p or 1080p and as you play it records at the same time with no latency or skipped frames. No compromises over which game nothing! It handles everything very well.
